We are leaving on Saturday, June 3rd and I am planning to bring a backpack with essentials for the park (moleskin, sunscreen, advil, bandaids, etc, etc) Is having a backpack generally a problem going on the rides, etc? Anyone have a problem with this? :tink: :smickey: :maleficen :goofy: :ccat: :mickeyjum :simba: :dumbo:

Having a backpack on rides is no problem, as the pp said. I hate the feeling of a backpack pressing on an already sweaty back, so I just prefer a fanny pack - I have all sizes ranging from holds-only-our room-keys to a monstrous one that holds all the first aid stuff, plus ponchos, camera, and two water bottles! I saw lots of people sitting down on the ride and then putting their legs through the straps sort of "wearing" the backpacks on their laps or shins.

We always have a back pack, filled to the top!!! (lots of camera equipment)

I've never had a problem with it on a ride, as disneyjunkie said, just loop the strap through your leg when you sit down and it will be fine!!!

Oh!!! And make sure it's all zipped up :teeth:

Nope not a problem at all, rode everything and anything with our rather large backpack in tow and everything was fine.
Have FUN!

I found a cool backpack at Walmart. It goes sideways across the front and back. I liked it better than my straight backpack. My back was not so soaked from the heat of it. I found it was easy on and off for rides. It snapped shut and velcroed. I just clicked it around my leg. Sometimes, the CM would let it sit at the end of the ride, too. Of course, I am sure this was my own risk.....but, they were really great. This was for the rides that started and ended at the same place. Many expect you have one, I think. Have a good trip. :thumbsup2

I find that a backpack is essential and do not have a problem riding with or carrying it. The picture shows me trying to get a cool refreshing beverage from the MGM Coke guy. I have a backpack and fannypack, and yes they do get a little hot, but you need a container for all your stuff. Beats making trips back and forth to a locker at the main entrance. I recommend one, and by the way that guy never did give me a drink.

Had no problems with a backpack, including all of the WDW coasters. One possible exception is Kali in AK. A very wet ride, and while there is a dry "stash" in the center of the rapids boat, it is not very deep and does not hold a backpack. Fortunately, DS did not like Kali, so we didn't have to take it along. I think there is a bag check somewhere near the beginning of the ride. Ask the CM at the entrance.
