Hi, we are visiting the world in the middle of May, and wondered whether I should call to check my ADR's are all ok???

I wasn't going to bother - as I was slightly concerned that they may end up cancelling them if I rang up about them!!!:lmao: But I've now read another thread where diners turned up for their meals and were told they didn't have a reservation!!:scared1:

I've got all my confirmation numbers and I don't really want to make an expensive international call if I don't need to??

Thanks alot for your advice!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I made 6 or 7 ADRs about 150 days in advance. I called to add one a month or two later and checked the others while I was talking to the CM. Well, one of the oridginal ADRs was on the wrong day. I was able to change it to the day and time I wanted but I was very glad I had checked. About 60 days out I called again to make a change and checked all of them again so I feel pretty confident now that things are as planned.

So, I would definitely say call to double check.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I've never called to confirm. I think that if you have your conf #'s you'll be all set and if for some reason your ressie is missing, I'll bet they let you in anyway.

Hi,

You will get all kinds of replies to this question.

If you look at my signature below, we have usually made at least 5 or 6 ADRs for each trip. We have never had a problem.

Maybe we have just been very lucky!

The bottom line is...it's your holiday; if it makes you feel better to call and confirm your ADRs, then by all means, call!

me, i always call a couple of days before we leave for our trip to confirm everything, including ADRs - you can catch a mistake if one exists and fix it before you arrive that way

Several years ago, I made a change to our ADR's. Everything about changing it went fine, I thought. Just before leaving for Disney, I decided to check and make sure. Well, the change I thought I had made didn't happen. The CM somehow deleted the new ADR change and kept the old ADR. When I asked if we could make that change, there wasn't any openings and we couldn't get into the restraunt that we wnated to, so we just kept the orginal ADR.

Long story short, I now always check on my ADR's before leaving.

I want as close to a picture perfect vacation and I don't want any unwelcomed suprises. Even if Disney makes it good in a hurry a wrong ressie is not for me. I don't want to be the 1 in a 100 that has something wrong with a ressie.

Also, if something goes quirky with the ressie I feel I can stir the pot a little more; since, I double checked ressies ahead of time. I had one bad experience at the Akerhus in Norway. I think the cast member was new to looking up ressies and maybe having a hard time finding our ressie. I checked later that night at our resort and our ressie was in the system all along for the right time and date. It was a very busy time there. Anyway, my hubby struck up a conversation with the manager there while I checked in and at the same moment I stated they couldn't find our ressie. Well, the manager took over and we were immediately seated. In this case, I felt the CM was lacking and I believe the ressie was in her system correctly. So, even if you have a correct ressie things happen. We were lucky here. My hubby is pure Swedish; so, I think that's why it was so easy for him to chat with the manager there.

I always check my ADR's now before leaving cause I had made some last year in January and even though I had the confirmation #'s they had the wrong name and about 1/2 of mine were messed up...luckily I was able to fix it and get everything I wanted...but it terified me especially since now I really only go when they offer free dining and the ADR's go fast with it...;)

i dont think it's necessary...the chance of something going wrong is pretty slim. however, saying that, the last time i went i did call and check my most important reservations (california grill, castle, etc) because if something went wrong with those it would have been very bad! :)

I disagree. We always have tons of ressies as we eat at least 2-3 table service meals per day. Next month we are doing Deluxe Dining for 14 days, lots of ressies. Each time I have called to modify or make a new ressie, I double check as I have had a bunch of CM errors this time. Someone cancelled a ressie by mistake, ressies on the wrong day even. I speak very slowly and carefully as I'm an English teacher, but, when making a lot of ressies, I just think some CMs get tired and make errors, they are human too! For this reason, I always check, especially at Le Cellier or Signature restaurants that are hard to get.

Happy dining, Tiger :)

I think this ones a tough call, b/c obviously you're calling out of the country. I understand you don't want to pay for the long distance. I'd say to not worry about it as long as you have your confirmation numbers. Then when you get over here, call and double check. I do double check mine, but mostly only when I make a change(then I go ahead and confirm the others). We've never had a problem. Just keep those confirmation #'s...;) :)

What thread is this that you speak of?

Hi - It was today - Post #19 on the Multiple ADR's thread on this forum (I think that was what she was saying anyway!!:goodvibes ) - But I had also read something a while back on this forum where someone had rung to change one adr and somehow all her other ones were cancelled  - So I thought it may be better if I didn't ring again, so that nothing gets wiped accidentally??:confused3

Didn't mean to worry anyone - I'm sure everything will be fine and anyway it seems as though in both cases, Disney made sure that they still got their adrs - so I guess as some others have said before, as long as you have your confirmation numbers it should all be good!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Hi again!! - I've actually just re-read my opening post and I think I may have misunderstood the other thread (post #19 on multiple adrs) - as she may have found out about the error with her adrs BEFORE she arrived at the world, rather than when she arrived at the restaurant - so it may not have been as bad as I thought!!! - sorry if I have misled or worried anyone!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
