Is Hulk a good 1st Time Inversion coaster?

I have never done an inversion coaster before. I had planned on riding RNRC at WDW so that I could see if I'd enjoy it, but I didn't think that my first IOA visit would come before my next Disney visit.

I just want to know if hulk would be a good 1st time inversion coaster for me. I have seen photos and videos and noticed the number of inversions is a whole lot, and wasn't sure if I'd be comfortable since I have never done a coaster like this. But I don't want to seem like a big chicken to my group (I know they'll all want to ride it) and really don't know if I'd be up to it.

So, how do you think I'd manage Hulk? Or should I just sit it out if it would be too much for a first time ride.

You may as well go for it. Your only other option would be the Dragons, as each has 5 inversions. Go for Hulk, get your harness down, let the adrenaline surge, and scream the whole time. You'll love it.

I'm hoping that I will.

I never looked this up, but how fast is Hulk?

The thing I like about Hulk the most is the solid carriage, it makes me feel secure. For a first time I think this is important. It has a floor and you aren't dangling your feet or just hanging. However, it is quite a long ride as coasters go, it is high and has more inversions than RNRC. RNRC has two inversions. If I was to recomend a first inversion coaster it would be RNRC, but I would say go for it! The funny thing with roller coasters is the ride doesn't last very long so if you don't like it just scream and then you'll be getting off.

Hulk hits 67 MPH,as far as if it's a good first coaster with inversions to ride is subjective. If you asked me what's the tamest coaster to ride with inversions I would tell you maybe Scorpion at Busch Gardens Tampa. Most of the other coasters with inversions in Orlando are just very different and unique rides, look at Rip Ride Rockit next door at Universal,it has a non inverting loop, other weird loops are the pretzel loop on Manta at Sea World as it has one of the strongest G forces on your chest on any loop.As far as Hulk or Dragon challenge they're different rides some people might feel safer on the Hulk trains versus the inverted trains with your legs dangling on Dragon challenge.Hulk is a great ride and the launch leading directly into an inversion is one of the best moments on any roller coaster,a lot of the rest of the ride has gotten a bit rough over the years but I would say go for it,this coaster is as good as you're going to get for a ride with inversions. If you're over at Sea World Kraken is another great inversion coaster, ride the front row for one of the best rides on a coaster in Orlando.

That would explain why it feels faster then! ;)

I love coasters but feel Hulk is a rough ride. I would recommend starting with RRR. It is smooth and has music to distract you from the whole ride.

It's probably my favorite coaster experience.

RNRC is also a great ride and my 11-year old daughter loved when she was 9. I think you would enjoy that as well.

Yet RRR is not an "inversion" coaster;)

That`s exactly what I did and it worked. I screamed all the way round but laughing at the same time as it`s such a fantastic feeling :cool1:

I was such a ride chicken and this was the first "big" ride I ever did.....and have never looked back since.

It can get rough further in the ride at times. Never found Duelling Dragons to be as rough it seems a lot smoother for me.

But please give one of them a go......you`ll love them once you`ve done them I`m sure :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

RRR can be headache inducing rough if you happen to get one of the bad cars. Much rougher than Hulk.

I think Dragon Challenge is smoother than Hulk and a much gentler ride for a first timer.

I recommend first row and keeping eyes open. This way you see where you are going and your body can adjust accordingly.

Hmm. Why not? It has inversions like Hulk.

It's not an inverted coaster, but I would call it an inversion coaster. DC is an inverted coaster; no others at UO or WDW are.

To me, an inversion coaster has inversions (upside-down portions), while an inverted coaster is inverted (track above car, when not in an inversion ;)).

I guess I'm a little bored today.

I personally think you will enjoy it.

I was scared at first and just stood under it listening to the loud roar and watching it spiral. But once you are locked in, you feel pretty secure and the ride is over so quick that you really don't have time to be scared.

.

Aren't you being contradictory here?

There are no upside down parts in RRR.

.....slow day here too......lol

Hulk was my first inversion coaster. I first rode it when I was 14 and I was one of the biggest ride weenies ever (it took a LOT of coaxing to just get me on Space Mountain for the first time a couple years before). Hulk turned me into a thrill seeker after one ride :)
