Is Hulk a good 1st Time Inversion coaster?

I rode it on my last Ride-Chicken-Busting trip. I started out with the Dragons though. Mostly because I was in WWoHP at the time I decided to just get on one and DO IT.

Hulk, as has been said, is a noticibley longer ride. It's pretty intense and really fast, but... You do feel really secure in the seats. And apart from the slight headache I had when I got off, it was great.

Do it.

And then go to Dragons. Ice/Horntail is my favorite - it's incredible.

I really do enjoy regular roller coasters, but I have always been a chicken when it comes to inversion coasters because I was always afraid I'd fall out of my seat :scared:

I've read a few posts here that claim that Dragon Challenge has no floor but that it is a smoother ride. Does DC really have no floor? That might keep me from riding on it.

Which should I do first, Hulk or DC? I want to try out the tamer one first before heading to the bigger one.

Thanks.

Since DC are inverted coasters, the tracks are above the trains which means no floor and your feet dangle. I think DC is smoother than Hulk but you'll have to judge for yourself. Both are pretty intense so I don't consider one being "bigger" than the others. But...I would go with Hulk first since you're not sure if you want to do an inverted coaster or not. They really are a lot of fun so try your best to do both sides of DC. Both tracks are different.

I'm such a chicken..... I skipped it. :(

Yet I loved FJ and Dr. Doom's Fearfall (Nobody in our travelling group would do FearFall and I loved it, it was just TOO short).

I think I'll just stick to RnRC at WDW as my 1st inversion before doing Hulk (If I ever do go back to IoA).

Thanks for the tips anyway.

If you asked me what's the tamest coaster to ride with inversions I would tell you maybe Scorpion at Busch Gardens Tampa.

While I agree with this, it isn't the most comfortable, because the loop is relatively small, so you really feel it as you're going around, where on rides like the Hulk, its much smoother and you don't notice it as much.

Honestly, if you get past the launch of the Hulk, its such a rush, the next 30 seconds or so will probably be a blur and you won't know which way is up!

Eh - don't feel bad. It took me several visits to muster up the courage. It does look so scary from beneath, but it really is a wonderful ride. I think I would have to say mush prefer it over either of the Dragons.

Sorry you didn't get the chance to ride it. But I'm glad you enjoyed the other rides:thumbsup2

I remember way back when, when I was afraid to try inversions. I remember riding my first inverted coaster and I didn't even notice them. It's going so fast and I'm laughing and screaming so much that I didn't know when I was up or down.

I think it's more of a mind thing than anything.

Right, people expect to feel differently, but because of the speed and centrifugal forces, you don't really get an upside-down sensation, like if you were on a slow moving ride, like those carnival rides that swing 360 degrees.
