Is Hoop Dee Doo Closing?

I recently posted a thread asking for reviews on HDDR, since we're going for the first time in February.

I just saw this story, which says that Disney is considering closing it! Guess I'm glad we are going!!

HDDR is one of the few entertainment elements remaining of those which helped make WDW the success it is today. Seems like it still attracts plenty of guests, so it's difficult to get behind a move like this. If true, shame on Disney for yet another bonehead idea.

I read the story and it sounds pretty thin to me. I do understand that audience at HDD, especially the later show, has not been a full house.

That would be a shame if it is true. We love HDDR. I'm glad we are able to go in November. Maybe they will move it instead of getting rid of it.

That pull mean Trails End would go away too as they are right together if it's because of expansion

I'd be shocked if this ends up happening. I'm not a fan, but it's one of the most beloved things on property!

This would be absolutely horrible
I love this show! We are going to WDW next June, and I could get the five adults to agree on going to Tusker House and Hoop Dee Doo. This is just not a cool rumor. This is a bastion of WDW, opening in 1974 and really not changing, yet still drawing crowds. Now, if they plan to refurb the building before the WDW 50th, I might be able to live with that. But if I had to guess, they probably want it as entertainment for the new River Country resort. That may be okay, but Pioneer Hall is almost as iconic as HDDR.

Although, they could redo Reunion Station at WL and maybe give that prime spot a good use
