Is Hoop De Doo worth a visit?

This thread came at just the right time for me. We just booked for our July trip. I have booked and cancelled multiple times over the years debating on if we should do HDDR or not. I’ve seen videos and don’t really get the love for it, but hoping the kids will like it. Kids are 8 and 10 so it’s now or never. We are staying at Fort Wilderness for the first and probably only time, which is making think we should keep it this time.

We go whenever we visit (every other year), and always enjoy it. My DH has been selected twice over the years to be Davy Crockett's ghost. We both really enjoy it but he is also very outgoing and adventurous. That being said, like most things, it mayIMG_3886.jpeg not appeal to some. No harm in giving it a go, and if you don't like it - you'll know not to repeat.

I have been once and am planning on going again next year. I believe last time I did the 6:15 show, and remember thinking the food felt 'held over'. Is the first meal usually the 'best'? The thought of a 4 o'clock meal is not ideal, but thinking the food might be better? Thooughts?

The food is freshly cooked for each show

I've been to all 3 (going to the 6:15 on Thurs, in fact), and the food has been fine to me no matter the time

I just went solo a week ago. I think it is a good deal. $65 for a 3 course meal plus entertainment? And that incudes the tip! I love the Hoop salad and the cornbread, but have to pace myself so I have room for everything else. Includes red or white sangria, along with beer and wine.

One note... I am surprised how many passholders don't realize you can still get the discount here even though you prepay. Once you check in and get your table assignment, just take that slip to the window to get the credit back on whatever card you used to pay originally.

Well worth the trip, When my kids were young we did Hoop every year, Food is real Fried Chicken and Ribs, show is entertaining and pretty funny, we haven’t been there in years and just said we should go for our Dec trip.. You will enjoy it

I guess we are the outlier , we loved the food and drink,
But the show is just way too corny for us to want to go back.

We only do 6:15 and always felt food was fresh.
