Is four days too short?

We can do 4 days, but have always done 5 or 6. If we did 4 days, we would stay in 1 park per day and for those parks where you can really spend about a half-day? I would explore slowly and try to experience everything! (I can really spend an entire day at AK. Well, at least I used to. We went to this place called Xcaret in Mexico a couple of months back and it was amazing. The only down-side is that it put AK to shame.)

We leave in 2 weeks for a 4 night stay. I have done stays of 4 and 7 nights and both are great, just different. Like PPs have said, plan to do your favorites and the rest is icing on the cake. We have our plans made for what to do each day but also have Plan B (skipping AK) in case we want more time at another park. We do have park hoppers & will use them each day.
Enjoy the time you have and don't fret over what you might not get to do.

While I'm in the Orlando area for seven days, only four will be at the Disney parks. I also like Universal/IOA and this year I decided to do Kennedy Space Center (just beat out Seaworld). While I would love more time, I can get what I want done in 4 days at Disney (and that's with 2 of the days at Epcot).

for several years we were taking two to three trips per year. We usually like to have 6 park days but 4 park day trips are fine with us. You do feel like you aren't get your bang for the buck with 4 days but we have been so many times so it doesn't matter. I just like to get away for a few days and unwind at WDW. Heck most of my fun comes from all the planning and DISing!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I feel it's not worth the travel time down for just 4 days......we travel by Amtrak from Ohio...and if I'm going that far and paying good money, I'm going to make it worth my time......9-12 nights is just about standard for us.....I hate a short trip...no sooner got there and start to relax and then leave......and we never travel off site....Universal, Sea World or anything else doesn't interest us one bit.....it's all Disney and on site resorts for us...even after 45 trips, we still enjoy all the time in WDW, longer the better...more relaxed touring and pool days.....

I just returned last week from 3 days (2 nights). I had the opportunity to go so I took it.
It was great - I had planned out what I wanted to do BEFORE I got there. This really helped me not to feel rushed and know ahead of time that I would not get to everything I wanted.
I took a slower approach and saw many of the shows that I have a bad habit of just skipping, in order to ride the rides. I picked a handful of rides in each park and worked them around the show / meal schedule and I loved it!!
The trip seemed quick, as we've always gone for at least a week, but because I knew going in exactly what I was going to see it was great! :goodvibes

For us, any number of days is too short. But that doesn't stop us from going for stays as short as 2 days. Of course, we go frequently so we're not pressed to try and cram stuff in.

Nothing short of 10 days for us. It's not worth it to fly 2500 miles for less than that. We're doing 14 nights this December!!

Yes, its too short!

But then again, on our trip we're doing two days MK, two days DHS, two days EPCOT, a day @ AK, a day @ BB, another at TL, an evening at DQ, several at DTD, a day at Sea World and two split between Universal and IOA. And we still have two days spare to plan :rotfl:

Well, it looks like you're able to go every couple of years, so while 4 days is short in the Disney scope of things, as a PP said, it's better than nothing. You'll have another trip in a year or so and you can do what you missed then. Some is better than none! ;) As long as you can afford the trip and flights and don't see any way of going longer, I'd go if it were me. I can relate to your situation in that we are NOT fond of heat ourselves and our oldest son is getting to the point that pulling out of school for more than a few days will be a serious issue. My DH and I are spontaniously getting away for only 4 days in Jan.. Luckly we were already planning on a family trip late Oct. of the same year, so we're just planned the stuff we need to do and things that can wait. We're happy just to be going! :goodvibes

I'm in a similar situation. I am going for 7 days/6 nights in March, but wish I would have done 10 days. If it wasn't for the fees to change airline tickets, I'd increase my time at Disney.

Four days is definitely too short, but you can look at it that it's four days at Disney, instead of the same four days somewhere else. :)

I personally love the quick trip to Orlando. In both 2009 and 2010, due to summer vacations elsewhere that took up a good chunk of my annual vacation budget, I only had a small budget for Disney/Seaworld and did just a three night two day trip. It was such a blast / loved it / actually these were some of my favorite trips ever to Orlando. Couldn't believe how much fun and how much of a get-a-way it felt like, being that short. I was able, though, then, able to get some great airfares -- just $200 round trip which made it easy to justify the short trip. // I'm now finding airfares almost double that.

For me I guess Orlando is a pretty intense place (so fun, but I'm ready to go home after just a few days), and I really like a shorter rather than longer stay.

Hey now there's an idea. Add 4 or more days to your trip staying at a WDW resort and Disney pays your airline change fees.:thumbsup2 Oh to dream!

We are going next month and flying in from Oregon. We are doing 5 nights/6 days with only 5 days in the parks. I wish we had more time, but due to work and college schedules we just could not make it happen this year. I say 4 or 5 days is better than none! :) Enjoy!

We are going in March also staying 5 nights and 4 days, 5 counting our arrival day since we have an early am flight. We are have also decided to skip AK and maybe DTD but we do have 2 free mornings so who knows it.

I think it is totally doable since there is far less going on than other times of the year when you have so many special events, ie: Halloween and Christmas. March is just F&G Festival mainly. Crowds are larger, so you just need a good park plan.

Our most recent trip was our first trip with more than 4 Disney days. Our trip before this had 4 Disney days, but also had SW/IOA/US. Trip before that had 3 Disney days and SW/IOA. And the one before had 2 Disney and SW/IOA. Since you're skipping AK, I think it will be easy. We were always able to get our fill of MK in one full day. (Though it was nice this last trip to have a little more time, but we have younger kids than you making the relaxation needed more!) In the past, we only had one EP day - and that's where we were lacking. Due to that, we stayed in Future World for all three trips and still filled up our day full! It was very much needed to have the extra time for EP this last trip and finally being able to take the kids to the WS side. We had one HS day this last trip, and while it worked, we did run out of time. However, if our crew had been older, I'm sure we could have filled it all in one full day much better.

So, with 4 days and my crew, 1 MK, 2 EP, 1 HS would work just fine. Going every 2-3 years is our plan, so we're not every year people.
