I will be traveling for business when my 180 day mark hits for my May vacation. Do you all think it is really neccessary for me to take my laptop and find a Starbucks (free WiFi) at 6:00 am to book my ADR's...we will be looking mostly for signature - not Canada! Maybe the Wave. We are very fleixable on time and where we go...just don't want to find NOTHING left when I call on day 179 and 1/2

Just looking for thoughts.

Thanks!

The change to 180 days is October 27th, so you won't need to worry about your May vacation because 180 days from 10-27 is April 25th. I'm so glad that the 180 days from my trip isn't until November!!!!!

She didn't say she needed to call on 10/27, just that she would be traveling when her 180 day window hit.

I don't think that you need to be quite so urgent with the 180 day window if you're looking for most signature restaurants. It will be easier when they change back to 180 days than it currently is. I would only be concerned about character meals, Victoria & Albert's, and the few ridiculously popular places like Le Cellier. I don't think The Wave will be any problem to get a lot closer to your trip dates. If you can call the next day, I think you will be totally fine.

:)Thanks for the replys...my 180 is November 5 and I can make ADRs that night. I bet I can still get canada if I wanted since our vacation is 10 days. I don't but sometimes I think I should just because I can :)

If you are flexible on time, you really don't need to make ADR's on your 180 day mark. We have never eve had travel plans that far ahead, let alone ADR's and have been able to get the restaraunts we want. Exceptions - Teppan Edo, and good seats at Luau. We are early dinner eaters and dinner is easy to get if you are willing to eat at 5:30 or so.

I would say that if you don't want Le Cellier or CRT you should be okay making them later.

Instead of going through the trouble of taking your laptop to starbucks at 6am, you can just call at 7am when the phone lines open. You'll almost certainly get everything you need that way just as well.

I'll be going online on Oct 27th since my trip is in March. But I won't be trying at 3am or even 6am. I will be trying later in the morning after I drop off my children at school. Do I think I may have trouble getting reservations...Yes, most likely. But I also think that at opening time, that's when the system will most likely crash. So, I figured, I may be better off checking later and plus, although we have a few favourites and I have 14 dinners to book, we've decided not to get the ddp, so I'm a little less anxious. I think it's more important at this time to be very flexible. I think this will be very difficult for me, but there's nothing I can do about it. :guilty:

Back to your question: in previous years, I usually called on the afternoon of my 180 or 90 day and was generally able to get most of what I wanted. I think the only problem I had was the recent change to 90 days in time for the Free Dining :headache:. I usually book my resort reservation 11 months in advance, so the Free Dining promotion is not announced yet. I thought that it would begin a week after we left. Believe me, when I found out it was the week we arrive, I was very very upset  and although I was able to get some of what I wanted, it was just a mess.:headache:

Hoping for a better experience next time.

Anyways, I never had a problem before when it was 180 days in advance since most promotions are not announced yet. I hope this is still true.:)

How funny...I never thought of calling! Thank you!
