Is first full week in Jan Busy?

OK all,

so I am closing next week, and getting ready to make my first reservation through MS.

we went the first full week of Jan this year (Mon 7th to Fri 11th) and want to go around the same time next year. so is this a busy time, should I call at 11 month mark to get in? This year we rented point in October and got into OKW no problem, so I am guessing I can wait day or two (if I am too busy one day at work) to call. My home resort is VWL as you can tell from the picture in my sig, I took while there visting AFTER we had bought in

I was able to book last January 5 - 12 without any problem (and that was for a standard view at BWV. JMHO, but you should be able to book what you want at VWL with one call - i.e., if you plan to check out on 1/11, you can call MS on 2/11 and book the entire reservation.

I always call when my 11th month window opens or as soon as my dates are firm if I don't know in time for the window. But that's just me. Some posters recommend that you call the first day your window opens to get the first night and then ask MS how availability looks. If MS says it's wide open, then you wait until you can complete the entire reservation before you call again. Otherwise, you'll need to continue calling day by day.

Anyway, I don't think the first full week of January 2003 is going to be so popular at VWL (or any of the other DVC resorts, for that matter) that you have to call day by day. I don't know when the 2003 WDW marathon is though, and that might change things for the weekend it takes place.
