I was thinking of doing the Fantasmic dinner package, but I am concerned that it might be too scary or overwhelming for toddlers ( 1.5 & 3.5). W!hat are others experience?

Thanks

I guess it would depend how your kids deal with loud things. Do they handle Illuminations OK? This show is loud and lots of things going on, may be too much for some kids.

Last trip my son had just turned 2 and absolutely loved it. I brought a few light up wands from home and he was having a blast with them and it kept him occupied.

I would give it a try, if they don't like it, you can always leave, no biggie.

Good luck and have a great trip!

The first time we saw FANTASMIC we had 3 boys that were ages 2, 3, & 4 and they all loved it so I guess it just depends on your child, I hope yours do like it because it is so worth seeing! Have fun :D

We don't have a small child anymore but the small kids around us seemed to really enjoy it.:D

my 6 year old has never seen it, she's seen a bit on the planning video that involved a dragon and that was enough to convince her that she didn't want to see it. I think she might be in her teens before we get her there, she is that sure she won't like it

It really just depends on how your kids handle loud/semi-scary things. We took ds to see it when he was 2.5 and it scared him. He was frightened by the villains, loud noises, etc. At 3.5 he wouldn't even consider seeing it again. At 4.5 he decided to give it another try and really liked it!

I would probably give it a try. If your kids don't like it, you can always leave.:D

When we went in the spring, my DD was 1.5. She loved it. The scary part went right over her head. My DS had just turned 4, and he loved it too. He said it was his favorite night show. We had prewarned him about the dragon, but it didn't seem to bother him. We sat close to the top because I had heard the villains weren't as scary from there. I don't know if this is true because I haven't sat anywhere else. It is a great show!

The other thing to keep in mind is that it starts pretty late. With our kids when they were toddler age, they handled that sort of thing pretty well IF they were well rested. But naps at Disney never really happen in the "well rested" sense, so we skipped it until this last trip when they were four and five. Even then, my daughter spent the forty minutes we spent sitting before the show started napping in my lap. Another thing to keep in mind is that, with some kids, you don't want to watch "scary" things late - they don't sleep well.

We took dd when she was 1 yr, 2 1/2 yrs and 4 yrs and she never had a problem with it and didn't have nightmares either. It's a great show, have fun!

We saw Fantasmic in October when my girls were 4 and 2, and they both loved it! We also saw it the previous October when they were 3 and 1, and they loved it then, too. No nightmares or anything. They weren't scared at all. I guess it really depends on your child and how s/he reacts to things.

We just returned home from WDW, and one of the things that really surprised me was how loud/scary Fantasmic was. My almost 4 year old DD handled it pretty well, but there were several times during the show that she sat with her hand over her mouth and grabbed onto me or hid her eyes.

I've never had a chance to see Fantasmic on prior trips and was really looking forward to it, but I was very disappointed. I thought it was too "over the top" for little kids. Granted, most of them around us seemed to do ok, and there was a "happy ending" but it really surprised me how intense it was considering that it's geared toward families.

I guess it depends on your child, but just keep in mind that it is very loud and there are several villians/scary images that are potentially very frightening.

Just so you're aware, a Large portion of the show centers around evil. Large images of the villains' faces are highlighted in the mist, and then their faces transform into other hideous images. Whenever I see the show, the special effects are fantastic, BUT the battle against evil, demon-like images, and the huge dragon seems to go on and on. I didn't take my DD's, ages 4 and 7, to see it. Just didn't want that to be the last thing they saw before bed. It's a shame, because the start of the show is cute and the end is happy, but the middle is geared for an older crowd, IMHO.

Whatever you decide, have a wonderful trip! :D
