  :scared1: OMG!!! Dec 7-12 is going to be crazy! We were thinking of switching hotels, but I can't find a room in ANY hotel for this week! I believe it is also Pop Warner week, but we have been there when this was going on and it wasn't too horrible... now i am beginning to get worried!

We went last year Dec. 1-9th and stayed at the Coronado. I think out of the 9 days we only once noticed a large group of cheerleaders. I did think the crowds were a teensy bit larger than when we went in late September.
All in all I would go back during this time and as long as your not staying next door to cheerleaders with healthy lungs you most likely won't notice them either.

Does anyone know if the Cheerleaders typically stay at CSR? I guess I just thought that most of the football/cheerleaders stayed at the Values.:confused3 I have been trying to book a room there, but maybe I should give up and try for something else?

Pop warner week is dec 7 - 12 (or 13th) I have read that they mainly stay at values. Lucky me, we are at ssr 12/1-5 then 5-7th we are at ASMo, I'm dreading it. I keep looking to switch to a mod but I need to get an ap rate to do it so I just keep calling every day. Good Luck!

Last year we staywed at Coronado Springs during the first week of Dec (Pop Warner Week) and we did not see a single pop warner group at the resort. We did see them in the parks they were relatively well behaved, although the cheering in line got old fast. I personally would rather not stay at the same resort with them I hear they get a bit rowdy at night.

I hear they stay mostly at the All Star Resorts.

I too am worried as I am staying at POP Century 12/3-12/14! I had no idea when DD and DSIL decided this timeframe would work for them for vacation time! Anyone have any experience at POP during this week? Do the groups stay here at all? I would imagine they do as it is one of the values and I could not even get a AAA discount or an AP rate for my room for that week. It is completely booked! The food court will be crazy I'm sure. DSIL has never been and so I hope we do not have them next door to us! I would hope they would take up an entire floor/building as they arrive in large groups. Stayed at ASMo one year and had cheerleaders out in the courtyard at 6 am each morning cheering. That was during a trip at a different time of year though.

we will be there Dec 4-15...besides Pop Warner being there, Disney films the Christmas Parade Dec 5th and 6th so I think that makes for a few more in the crowds as well:santa:

Yep, it seems as the entire universe is converging at WDW the week i'm going (12/6/08-12/13/08) . As you have seen by the ZERO number of rooms available that week, it's gonna be CROWDED. It was bad last year and now it seems that nightmare is going to repeat itself. We've always gone 2nd week in December as it's always quiet and kids are still in school. It seems everyone's pulling their kids out and POP Warner is invading the parks so, to me, I feel as if it will be the worst experience we've ever had. I'm hoping for the best, but know that MVMCP will be hellacious getting in/out (especially leaving and being packed liked livestock on the monorail ramp). It should be easy to find me as i'll have this face the whole time  .

We have gone the 2nd & 3rd week of Dec. for the past 4 years and each year has gotten busier than the year before. Last year, we felt that the third week was less busy than the previous week even though it was closer to Christmas:eek: . We are preparing for even bigger crowds this year.:scared1: So many people have talked about low attendence and Decorations that the secret of Dec. is definately out.

Mousefest is also going on December 7 - 13 this year. The first few days they are on a cruise though, then they meet at the parks the rest of the week.

I used to go every year at this time...not anymore.Disney has done an EXCELLENT job of getting the word out about how wonderful and slow this time of year is.Don't get me wrong last year at that time was still quite manageable. But for those of us that went every year at this time, it was noticeably busier. If you go expecting some crowds you will be fine.If you go expecting totally empty parks, with no waits ,you will be disappointed

We are also going Dec 6th-13th. We were flexible with our dates but picked this week because it was value season, the weather is cooler, we could still see the Christmas decorations and it was supposed to be SLOW! I would change weeks but now I've already planned things like ADRs and MVMCP.

Can someone tell me what the average wait time for a ride is at this time? Would you consider switching weeks even if it meant losing your ADRs? The only reason I'm hesitant is I got really good airfare(in my package) and obviously i'd lose that as well. I could probably use the code though, but with the increase in airfare it's about even. What do you think?

There is absolutely no way I would cancel and lose my ADRs, they are just too hard to come by these days. Will the first week be more busy than the third week? Probably, but it is still value season and still a good time to go. If you get to the parks early and use Fastpass you won't have any trouble touring the parks.

We will be there Dec. 7-14 but we are staying at Wilderness Lodge so I'm hoping and praying that it won't be too crowded. We are used to going in the summer anyways and we are always able to do what we want to then. So as long as they aren't any worse than that, then I think we will still be able to do and see what we need to. Although, I must admit we are the commando type of family.......;) We get up early and stay late

I know what you mean. We are arriving 12/4. I tried to get 7:30 am breakfast at Boma's yesterday for 12/5 and was told nothing was available. :sad2: We have always been able to do walk in early breakfasts at Boma during this time period when in the past when we stayed at AKL. Plus NO discount (AAA or AP) for our days at AKL either. We have NEVER paid rack rate to stay at AKL in the past during this time period. Heck when I called a few weeks ago I could get AP rate for days leading up to Chrismas (checking out 12/4). We were going to change our dates but it costs too much to change our air. I am preparing myself for a very busy time. Not what I was hoping for....

I'm only asking because I called to get a AAA rate for BWV and was told there was none but there was on AAA website and the CM told me that AAA has an allotment of rooms that they don't have access to, if that makes any sense. So if you haven't check the AAA website you might want to. If you have, sorry and I hope something opens up for you!! I ended up going with YC because she said she had a room for our dates with AP rate for $259 so I grabbed it. Good Luck!!
