Is taking your kids to Disney every year too often? Do you let more time go by to keep the 'magic'? Or is it just as magical?

We've gone twice a year the last two years (whoo hoo DVC!), and it's been waayyy more magical then when we went ever four years! Could be because our family has grown, and my son LOVES planning our trips.

Do what works for your family - personally, if I had my way we'd go about ever 10-12 weeks! :)

Yes, I am addicted.

We go twice a year but do not just do Disney.

For us it is the whole area that does it for us.

I like to at least go once a year if not twice.. if we go twice .. its b/c we are visiting family at Christmas.. and go to Disney too!:cool1:

I think it depends on you and your family. We usually go 2-3 times a year, everyother year a Disney cruise has been thrown in there (our 3rd is 3/08). Before we had our DS#1, we would go for long weekends all the time...we probably would now...but times have changed w/2 kids.

we've been going every year for about 8 years, sometimes more than once -- (another woo hoo for DVC!) :woohoo: If my kids had it their way, we'd go more often! Every trip is different -- as the kids get older the vacation changes depending on their newest likes & dislikes. We also don't go "commando" at all! We know we'll be back so there is no urgency to "do it all" or run ourselves ragged. We try new things too -- restaurant, shows & rides. I can honestly say in all the years we've been going, we can still find new things to do! :thumbsup2

Next month will be my family's 5th trip since 2004 (and we go for 7-9 nights each trip).

This year, we're also going again in late July & then again at Christmas for 8 nights (another WOO-HOO for DVC!!)

You can never have "TOO MUCH DISNEY" IMO.. :dance3:

We started out going once every couple years, then once a year - now we're up to 4 times a year! My husband is not quite as obsessed as my daughter and I, so he only goes 3 times a year. ;)

The great thing about going to Disney World is that each trip seems to create its own special memory. Even though you hit the same attractions each time, things happen that make each trip unique and memorable. You never have the same vacation twice. Where else can you go and have that?

Lately we've been averaging every year. We purchased a DVC because it just seem like every time it came around for vacation my family wanted to go to disney. If we go every other year, we make it a really long trip (12-14 days) and then do the other attractions (Universal, seaworld, nasa). Hasen't lost it's magic yet. We went last August and now my youngest wants to go back for his birthday in November, so we're doing Jersey week at the BCV's

Let me put it this was:

2003 - 1st trip with younger ones 7nights/8 days
2004 - 11 nights/12 days (3 days at Universal included)
2005- 15 nights/16 days (2 nights at Nick Hotel)
2006 - two trips (January 5 nights/6 days July 15 nights 16 days - Universal included)
2007 - two trips (January 5 nights/6 days June/july 14 nights/15 days)

If it was up to me I'd add in even another trip! The magic keeps on growing!

....and we love every minute of our Disney vacations. Since buying DVC last year we are staying around 10 days each visit and we are splitting up our visit this year with a Vero Beach weekend - hopefully this will be a good plan. :cool1:

We were once a year people but now have moved on up to 2x a year(BWV).

Last year was our first time since we were both young and we had a great time! Going back again this year. Possibly skipping next year (planning on having another child) but then I think we'll likely go yearly for many years to come! I think each year will be different, with the kids growing up and all!:)

I'm going to be the voice of opposition & say that every year is too often if you're not doing any other vacations throughout the rest of the year. There is more to the world than Disney & I believe kids should experience as much of it as possible.
We took our kids to Disneyland when they were little (2 & 5), did a cruise last year & plan on taking them to WDW in probably 2009 (our last chance to go off-season). But we've also visited a dormant volcano in New Mexico, seen Shamu in San Diego & San Antonio, petted a hissing cockroach in Victoria, BC, Canada and this summer we're taking a bite out of the Big Apple.
I grew up vacationing with my family every year. I saw the Constitution, Mt Rushmore, Gettysburg, The Grand Canyon & many other historical & natural wonders. When we talked about the Declaration of Independence it wasn't just something I read about in a book because I had seen it. I better understood the scope of the Grand Canyon because I had seen it. My world was greatly expanded beyond my tiny little town because I had traveled.

My plan is every other year or so till my son doesn't want to go anymore. On the in between years we'll take him someplace else, most likely the Caribbean (my favorite destination). I also want to take him to Ireland.
