Is DTD not viable for arrival night due to the parking situation?

We'll be offsite only for our first night tomorrow. Switching to Pop on Tuesday morning.

But that means we won't have a bus to get to DTD on our arrival night. We probably won't make it into Orlando until 5 or 6, so we'd be heading there afterward. I keep hearing the parking is horrendous. I'm wondering if we should just pay the $15 for valet parking, loathe as I am to do so.

Any tips for this?

We were there about a week ago, visited DTD several times and never had a problem. We were actually able to get close parking to the entrances.

I think the valet is $20 now. We were there last week and went to a movie on a Thur around noon and it was no problem to park.

We went to dtd, west side on Sat late afternoon and even our Disney bus had to wait and wait just to get into the parking lot to drop us off.

I think you should plan on valet but try and finds a spot first.

I'd give general parking a try. You may have to park across the street or at the far west end past Cirque, but you'll find something. If you're mainly interested in the Marketplace area, you'll have a bit of a walk back and forth.

I hope I have your good luck.

Urgh, $20 is even worse! We'll be there on a Monday night instead of a weekend. Maybe we'll luck out.

Marketplace is our destination, but I think we could handle the walk. We'll definitely look around a bit before forking over the money.

We go during the week at night all the time and almost always find a spot unless it's a weekend night. After lots of frustration, we landed on the plan of going directly to the lot next to Cirque where the valet is. There's almost ALWAYS spots there. Monday night should be easy enough to find one.

If you end up by cirque and don't want to walk it, remember you can take the boat

I say go to DTD - yes, the parking situation is not great, but is much better during the week than on weekends IMO. Had no trouble parking by Cirque and just walking, I personally think it's a nice little walk over to Marketplace. I'd rather do that than walk across the busy street, but that's just me!
