Is Disneyland really removing the hanging corpse from the Haunted Mansion....

The reason people have depression
And the thing is, "child friendly" varies. I don't really think there is anything in the HM that isn't child friendly. Many old Disney movies have some harrowing scenes, and I think that's okay. Walt was always adamant about not talking down to children. They can handle the concept of a pirate. Let's not even start about the end of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride! Still, I don't think that's not child friendly. It's really all about the tone. I mean, I have some misgivings about Deadpool being in the parks considering how crass those movies are - it's the tone that makes it different. That said, I'm not going to throw a fit about it - in the long run, it's fine.
I don't think its throwing a fit to say I'm not a fan of making everything into a cartoon

Will it ruin the ride? No but it for sure won't make it better.

Well, more of what I meant is that I'm not going to throw a fit about something I find mildly inappropriate being placed in the parks, i.e. Deadpool. I would say that I'm on your side - the hanging Ghost Host is fine, and even if someone finds it a little inapporpriate, is it really worth petitioning Disney to change it? I don't even really know that anyone has - but there have been rumblings about this change for a while.

We don't know that. It might be replaced with something.

Also better is subjective- Not having that scene would make it a better ride for *me* and maybe for others as well but it might not make it better for *you*

If the way the current Disney operates is a predictor then my guess is it will be changed.

While i get the argument for removing it, I personally have no issue and rather enjoy the hanging corpse for how it sets the tone for new riders. The first time i rode it, I remember thinking "holy moley, how scary is this ride going to be?" Then it ends up being a silly kids haunted house for all to enjoy.

Just like all of Disney, it's pretend.

Ok, you know what? I have been on the Haunted Mansion at WDW probably 20 times or so in my life. My DW and DD asked me about the hanging in the stretch room and I said, "what are you talking about?" I had absolutely no idea that was happening above me. I actually called them out for making it up. They then showed me a YouTube video of it. I was stunned! They wanted to know what I thought the ghost host meant by, "there's always my way...hahahahaha." I just thought it was kind of left up to imagination as the lights go out.

We are going in a couple weeks and can't wait to actually see it in person!!

We were at WDW July 4th week and week after and it was not there. The first week we rode it, they were skipping the stretching room, and then the next week we did do the stretching room. Same routine played with the lights going out and the skylight lighting up, but no hanging corpse.

So my guess is they will be removing it from DL as well. Personally, I think the ride is still great. At least now we have the hatbox ghost in Florida. He's a cutie!
