Is Disney World the Only Place You Go? A Bro and Sis PTR Feb. 2011-TR Link added!

YAY FOR ALL THE ANNUALS!!!

I thought about getting the TIW card but since we can get the DDP with the AP rooms (discount rooms too!), it's a better deal for us. We love love love TS meals so for us we go to one TS meal and it pays for the day. If we didn't have it, we wouldn't do desserts + TS meals so for us it's a great deal!
I did have TIW when I was a CM which was great for when we didn't stay on property or couldn't get the DDP with our CM discount rooms! I think I could end up buying it assuming I move back to FL and would go for meals when maybe not staying at WDW.

My bro would never put up with all the PP pics for me to buy the CD! We did take a few in March when we went last year with the hopes of doing something with them for mom's bday and father's day both in June but we never did..haha.

HAPPY PACKING!

Yeah, the only reason we opted out of the DDP this time was the fact that we were going to be at Universal for two days, and that we wanted to eat at the Bistro, which isn't a DDP restaurant. I am keeping us on a daily budget like the DDP so we can stay on track for spending.

Yea, as for PP, I basically told my brother that it wasn't an option. But he's the kind of person that I think will even take character pics with me! I plan on wearing that PP out!

Okay everyone, I am so stoked right now!!!

My team, the Packers, are in the Superbowl!!!:banana::banana:

This excites me for a few reasons. One reason is that we are going to be watching the Superbowl on the 6th at the ESPN club in Disney, but this is why I'm really stoked. If the Packers win, they'll be in Disney just days after the Superbowl......which means I could see them in a parade and at the park!! :thumbsup2

I don't know, I may have to run up to Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews and just say........I love you man!

On a side note to all other football fans. I have much respect for all other teams, and the Bears as well (even though we are supposed to be bitter rivals, blah blah blah). No hating on this thread. ;)

Hi, Jumping on board. Just finished reading it all and catching up. You are getting so close now.
congrats to your Packers. Have fun watching the Superbowl at ESPN. Get there when they open!! :rotfl:

I hope you will continue this and to a TR. I am excited to hear your take on the Harry Potter stuff, as i want to take my kids to see this also.

Hi Kim, welcome aboard!

I know, I totally plan on getting to the ESPN club when they open! I think I may have to camp out.......:rolleyes1

In all seriousness, I think I'm going to stop there the day we arrive to figure out what we can do or if they will take reservations.

I will definitely continue this into a TR, don't you worry!

:yay::yay::yay: GO PACKERS!!! I had no idea you were a Packer fan! That'll be so fun watching the game at the ESPN Club...take pictures of that...I want to see all the Cheeseheads. :) If they do win and you get to see them PLEASE take lots of pictures of that too, hehe. Personally I'm waiting for the Aaron Rodgers "I'm Going to Disney World!" commercial. :rolleyes1:laughing: Regardless of whether they win or lose the Super Bowl, you can bet I'm going out and buying an NFC Champions or Super Bowl Champions t-shirt to wear proudly when we go! :thumbsup2

Oh man, I completely didn't even think about the fact that you live in Wisconsin! LOL. I would love to see a bunch of cheeseheads at the ESPN club. We'll have to see.

I totally went out the other day to see what kind of new Packer stuff I could get. I really wanted to get a Rodgers jersey, but they are really hard to find! :scared1: It's no wonder though, since he's AWESOME!!!

No worries, I will take plenty of pics.

So I'm sitting at home the other day, and I can't stop thinking about the 50's Prime Time Cafe. I don't know why. I think it was because I saw someone's TR and they had eaten there......and it made me want to eat there.

So, I looked at our itinerary to figure if I could fit it in somewhere, and I tried to secure a reservation.......

And I did! For Monday, February 7th at 7:45pm. We were planning on heading to DHS for magic hours, so I figure it will fit in nicely. Now all I have to do is think about what I want to eat......Pot Roast I think! :lmao:

I made our separate packing lists yesterday. Jason said to me the other day that he always needs my packing list, because he's afraid that he's going to forget something. I can understand that, and I am obsessive about my packing lists.

This weekend, I have to do laundry and I'm going to begin the packing process. I also have to call to get my hair touched up on Thursday, and then it's off to get a mani/pedi on Friday. I have to go get my hair done, no questions. I recently dyed it dark. Since I have blonde hair naturally, it's important that I go regularly to get it touched up when it's dark, otherwise my roots start coming out really badly, and that's not good! :scared1:

Other than that, I don't think there's anything else to worry about. Other than pray that this week goes by really fast! :thumbsup2

I also went a little bit crazy on the Kipling website the other day, and ordered a few too many new bags.....:rolleyes1

I'm going to take some photos and I'll post for all to see......I think I have a problem.......:dance3:

Two things - first - go packers! While I am not typically a Packers fan, once my team was out, I picked the Packers to root for. I love football and there are a few teams I hate, so the decision was pretty easy for me! I hope to catch them in the parade at Disney!

Second - maybe we'll run into you at Hollywood Studios on Monday the 7th. We are planning on heading there after dinner as well (we are going to Flying Fish that evening), so maybe we will cross paths. However, since I have a little one in tow, we may be in different areas! haha.

Soo close now!

There aren't to many teams that I hate either, so I'm totally with you about picking a team to root for. I live in Bear country unfortunately, so once the Pack won, they're all giving me grief by rooting for the Steelers.....

I have never eaten at Flying Fish before, so I hope you guys have a good dinner. If you end up being in the TSM area, it's likely you will run into us! :lmao:

great update!!!

Sorry to read about the Packers though, of course from my TR you probably read that I'm a Steelers fan! We'll see how it goes next week! 2 years ago, I was in WDW for the Super Bowl and we watched it from some family friends' room at the Poly which was pretty unique and cool!!

I also LOVE 50s. I get the fried chicken! It's very good :) I'm going to have to check out that bag website tht you mention. I haven't heard of it. We checked out a Vera B sale today (50% off selected colors) but I didn't see anything I loved or needed..which is a 1st!

Yup, I did see that! I have a lot of respect for the Steelers and I think it's going to be a great game! In all honesty, I'm just happy the Packers are going.

I've had the fried chicken at 50's before, and it is very good. I have a soft spot for the pot roast though. :lovestruc

Kipling is a brand from Belgium and a lot of people in Europe carry them. You can always spot a European in WDW by the fact that they most likely have a Kipling bag.

Okay, so I'm four days away from our trip, and what's going on in Chicago? Yup, unless you live under a rock, you've probably seen the news, and all of the talking that they're doing about this giant storm that's coming in?

So we're forecasted to get 20 inches of snow in less than one day. :scared1:

My work had to put together a contingency plan so that people didn't try to come into work in potentially dangerous conditions. So, I most likely have tomorrow off from work, unless the weather doesn't come through as expected.....but I think it's coming in.

So tomorrow, even though I'm off from work, I have a fun filled day of shoveling and snow blowing. Hopefully, I'll be able to fit in some time to pack. No hair appointment for me now, because of the weather that's coming in, so I'll have to deal with some root issues.

All I know is.....my flight better be able to take off on Saturday!

Sorry to hear abou the snow! We had ice this morning, rain in the afternoon, and ice all night. I'd rather have the snow!!!!!! In Cincy for the weekend, it's showing in the 40s so hopefully it will get warm up your way!

You can wave to me as you're flying by!!!!

Fingers crossed you are able to get out OK! We're supposed to get a lot here but I don't think 20 inches. Only like 12-16 I think. :rotfl:

Good luck getting out chica! I was going downstairs to flip the laundry and found that there is a small spot at the bottom of my back screen door that is not sealed. Had a foot high snow drift INSIDE my house!!! :scared1:
It's working itself up into quite a lather isn't it?!

Hi Danielle,

I am joining in. You have an awesome trip planned and you will love Universal. The Wizarding World is incredible. Just be warned that they are not kidding on motion sickness warnings on the Forbidden Journey ride. If you are prone to motion sickness you might want to take a dramamine something like that before you head over to the park. It wasn't horrible for our group but most of us felt the effects. As far as CS, the only place we ate at in IOA was in the 3 broomsticks. The atmosphere was nice but the food was just ok in my opinion. Here is a menu if you want to see.

Even if you don't eat there, head into the Hogs Head Pub that adjoins the 3 broomsticks for a look around and perhaps some liquid refreshment.

It's supposed to all clear up by Thursday, I'm just really not looking forward to shoveling out!

I know, lucky! LOL. I already have a snow drift as tall as I am in front of my garage. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with that, when the snowblower...........is in the garage...........

Man, it really is getting bad! Apparently, lots of people are without power in the city. We've had a few surges, but we're okay so far. And there's lightening?! How does that happen? :scared1:

I have the same problem with my screen door, and it's building up!

Glad you've come along for the ride. I'm okay with motion sickness. I worked at a Six Flags theme park for 6 years, so I can ride anything on a full stomach! :lmao: Thanks for the warning though, because I really hadn't heard that about the ride.

Thanks for the menu. I know that Universal doesn't have awesome food options, I'm just looking for edible at this point, because the last two times I was there, the food wasn't even edible. I did want to check out the Three Broomsticks and the Hogs Head Pub. :thumbsup2

Hey girl, looks like it has settled down faster than they thought it would. I would say your getting out of town on Saturday is looking way better now.
We had a couple of surges too, but no power lost.:cool1:

Let us know how it went and if you got out. Good Luck!:thumbsup2

Yeah, it finally stopped snowing by us here at about noon. However, I had to then shovel out of a snow drift that was six feet tall! :scared1: It was unlike anything I've ever seen before.

Alrighty, so at this point, I only have tomorrow to make it through!

So far, our flight seems to be in good shape. We have survived Snowmageddon!

It was unlike anything I've ever seen before! There was a snow drift in front of my garage that was as tall as I am! It took me six hours with a snow blower just to get my driveway done. Unbelievable.

We lost power for five hours in the middle of the night because the blizzard was so bad. I was nervous for a while, because it was getting pretty cold in the house. Fortunately, the heat did come back on eventually.

Now we're looking at clear skies, and it seems that everyone has finally been plowed out of where they are!

So tonight, I begin packing. My schedule has been totally thrown off because of this storm. We were given yesterday off because of the danger of getting into work. Didn't do me much good though. Every muscle in my body hurts from having to do all that shoveling.

I wanted to go and get a pedicure tomorrow, but honestly, the temperatures dropped so much, I'm not so sure I'm going to be able to do it. So, at home pedicure it is!

I'll check in tomorrow and then we're on our way!
