Is Disney’s Best Kept Secret your best kept secret too?

Guess what we just joined DVC, too! :cool1:

.....and we're keeing it a secret.

OP and others: We too, have family that are of the "I don't get it" variety. DH's family goes deaf whenever he brings up our trips. He would love for them to join us, but they have no interest to, whatsoever. "Time to change the subject!" DSIL exclaims whenever he brings it up. My green monster of a cousin visted my home for the first time this past NYE and with a disgusted look wanted to know where we found all our Disney decor. (I have a Mickey chandelier, sconces, mirror, kitchen appliances, etc.) She asked DH, (while I was in another room) "Don't you get enough Disney going to Florida ALL THE TIME? You have to bring it home, too?" I get asked by her, "Why don't you go somewhere's else? There are nicer places to visit. Ever been to NYC or Cancun?" I've let her know that those places are not our style. We have young kids and Disney is the best place for our family. No, we don't get tired of doing the same thing year after year, because we don't do the same thing year after year. That's what's so wonderful about Our Best Kept Secret.
:goodvibes

I honestly don't give a hoot if they found out about our purchase, but I'm afraid that if I did, my cousin would turn into the Hulk. I'm doing it for her sake. :rotfl2:

Yeah, count us in the "you're going THERE again?" camp. I don't apologize for it anymore. I don't care anymore. Our kids aren't even that little anymore - my almost 16 year old is our biggest WDW fan. So, we go and we have fun. We can ALWAYS be unabashedly in love with Disney here! We will NOT question you!!:goodvibes

I don't really keep it a secret, I keep inviting family that keeps declining. I know that they think we are crazy. I simply don't let it bother me... correction, I don't let that it bothers me keep me from still inviting them. I figure one of these days someone will accept and they'll get a chance to "do it the right way."

But, every family has there "thing." For my family, it's Disney. For my sister's family, it's third generation chain-smoking. The expense of that habit, makes Disney look like chump change.
:thumbsup2

For yet another sister, it's non-stop working to afford a high-maintenance lifestyle. Me, I can do without show homes and designer labels. That's her thing, Disney is mine.

Couple all of this with the fact that a miserable person can, and will, be miserable anywhere; and, you then have to realize that different strokes for different folks is, ultimately, a good thing.
