Is Direct price per point the same for newbies vs people who are adding on?

Thanks to this awesome board and all the learnings from the wonderful DVC veterans on this site, I have learned the best thing to do for my family is to buy a combo of both resale and direct contracts for copper creek. We travel mainly in October, once in a while in December and plan to start going in May. It looks like a use year of October is best for us. Since resale takes longer to close, I’d like to start the ball rolling on a direct contract. Any issues with buying direct first? I know most people buy resale first to match to the resale use year. I think I’m set on waiting for an October UY resale contract. We own another company’s timeshare to hold us over until one becomes available. Is there a better deal on the price per point given to people who already own points vs the price per point given to first time DVC buyers? If so, then maybe resale is the way to go first.

We were told that if you are members in good standing for a year you get best possible financing terms. There is no difference on price per point.

There aren't many resale contracts on the market right now, because the resort is newer than other resorts. I would suggest to wait a bit and buy resale first. While it's true October is the ideal UY for you, September is not too bad too. Unless both contracts are big enough to be used separately, having the same UY will simplify your life for the next 48 years.
If you buy an October UY direct first, then you'll have to wait for the right contract resale with an October UY.
If you buy resale, you might be flexible and buy a September UY if you find a better deal, then matching the same UY direct is easy: if they have the points available you can almost always pick the UY you want.

Check DVC resale market, I see 6 contracts with a October or September UY at CCV

And the Timeshare store has 3 September.

Make sure you are check all the major resale sites daily.
