Is it too late to get a dinner reservation at 6:15pm at Tiffins?

The AK park itself closes at 6pm. I would hope that we can finish whatever we are doing and head to Tiffins but didn't want to rush ( cuz I'm hoping to hop onto FoP before the park closes ).

I'm not planning on sitting there for a full hour doing nothing.....but I don't want to rush dinner as well.

Thoughts?

Restaurants that have post close ADRs available are prepared to serve guests for at least an hour after the last ADR time slot. In my opinion, these were the best ADRs to get as you weren't wasting park hours by eating. If you see them available, take it and enjoy the quieter walk out of the park after nearly everyone else has left the parking areas.

If you are planning on getting in line for a ride at 5:59, you will not make a 6:15 dinner reservation. The park officially closes rides down at park closing. Any one in line will be able to ride (but there will definitely be a line, lots of guests try this) A dinner reservation has a 15 minute grace period. Since the park officially closes at 6, there isn't a way to make a 6:15 reservation. A table service dinner will definitely take at least one hour (again there are no guarantees you will be seated, at exact reservation time)

I'm confused by "I'm not planning on sitting there for a full hour doing nothing" – does the park close at FIVE, not six?

I plan to make a run at FoP as the last ride of the night at AK by planning to get in line somewhere after 4:45pm with hopes that we can get onto the ride and be done before 6:15pm.

I did something similar last time where we got in line towards the end of the night before the park closes and was able to get on. You think that I'm cutting it too close?

Any thoughts on this approach and whether it would be too late to get onto the ride and then rush over to have dinner at Tiffins?

Not sure that approach will work.
Without an ADR, I doubt you can get into Tiffins.
Depending on the line at 4:45 for FoP, you may or may not be able to make a 6 pm ADR at Tiffins.
With an ADR, if you don't show at that time, it could be a $10 per person charge.
We have done FoP many times at closing and its been 15 -30 minute wait.
75 minutes before close, the line could still be at 60-90 minutes. Thats cutting it very close.
