We are staying at AKV for a week, and DH doesnt want to go to Boma ...

We've been there twice before and I loved it, he "thinks" he didnt ...

Are we crazy not to go there, especially when we are staying there?

Yes, you are crazy to not go there. WDW is a TRAVELING vacation. Lots of walking, lots of moving around. And something about it makes everyone want to plan on going somewhere to do something. To not take advantage of Boma, which is an excellent buffet, a restaurant located on your property is to lose the opportunity to have a more relaxed plan for a least one meal.

Breakfast there is excellent, with few non-American choices. Dinner was also excellent, with plenty of choices, espcially if you don't get caught in the "buffet" mentality. You could have a very nice meal there from the carving board, the salad board/soup, a nice side dish and dessert and still get your money's worth without having to eat yourself silly.

I loved it too... DH, not so much so we are staying there in April and will not be eating there either. I would be interested in hearing about the breakfast though...

what time does bfast end? trying to make a late adr so it could be lunch too ...

just did a 1035 brekfast on the day we transfer to the other resort for our 2nd week ...

leave husband home.

that a GREAT review!

did they have alot of non breakfast foods? like brunch?

did they have an omlet station?

Seconded. This is a must for breakfast for us whenever we go.

Agree, love that special breakfast juice. They do make omlets up fresh, but I never say a made to order station like in Crystal Palace.

when we stayed at AKL we ate at BOMA for breakfast 3x...you have to eat at least once at the restaurant you stay.

Have you dined at Jiko or Sanaa at Kidani Village. Jiko along with California Grill is our favorite place to eat at WDW. We tried Sanaa for the first time last month and it was excellent. We will be dining there many times in the future.

I love DInner at BOMA - DH would just have to suffer, lol

We don't care for Boma much either due to terrible service each and everytime we go. We have been 3x during different months and different times of day, and each time, the pagers are broken, they have overbooked, and the servers are so overworked, that we have had to buss our own tables.

It's a great concept, with some interesting dishes, but for us, we are giving it a break and we are DVC members whose 2nd home resort is AKV!

Good luck, Tiger

just checked out their menus ... we arent big indian food fans, so sanaa is out .... plus dont want to use the 2 TS for jiko ...

but thank you! didnt even know there were other restaurants there

Thanks!

There were only a few nonbreakfast foods, like the carving station. I thought the curry sausage dish was pretty brunchy, and many egg based dishes which is kind of brunchy. But I don't recall there being anything like salads or soups. If you don't mind eating egg based dishes and fruit/bread for lunch, then it's lunchy.

Definitely filling. If you could get a later ressie, then you could definitely pick out a meal that was brunchy. I remember the omelet station being made to order. But I could be mistaken. I didn't get an omelet the day we went.
