Is Dessert Always Included?

We will be visiting in February and have the Regular Dining Plan. I've been looking over the menus on allears. Some quick service places don't seem to have any dessert listed (e.g., TamuTamu, Toluca Legs, Upcountry, etc) even though they are listed as serving lunch/dinner.

Do they take the dining plan for meals? Is there really not dessert? Or, do they just hand you a cookie or something as a token dessert?

Thanks!!

Yes, dessert is always included. The menus you see on unofficial sites are obtained by users and sumitted to the sit for posting. If a user doesn't get/send a complete munu, the site can't post a complete menu.

At every meal, except breakfast. No dessert at breakfast.

some CS may offer a cookie or bag of chips because they don't have anything else. But there will be something offered. You are correct, it may not always be your definition of "dessert."

if there's no obvious dessert, do you ask them what is the dessert included or they just automatically include?

Not all Disney restaurants take the Dining Plan. Upcountry doesn't. Places like Sleepy Hollow at MK don't accept DP but they do have snack credits on their menu. TamuTamu will give you a milkshake for dessert, to me that would be 2 drinks. It's always better to ask if you are not sure.

I wish they would break the QS credits into components. How much harder can it be to manage entree credits, drink credits, and dessert credits seperately? That's how they punch it into the register. Then I could enjoy the Slow-cooked Chicken CurryTamuTamu and still enjoy the Chocolate Mousse at Flame tree for dessert. Not to mention how happy your 8 year old would be to have a cupcake for dessert and not grapes.

Are you asking about it from a computer tracking point of view or a guest point of view? From a computer system, that seems like it should be pretty easy, but given how many folks here on the Dis indicate they have trouble keeping track of CS credits, can you imagine how much harder it would be to track CS Entree, CS Dessert, and CS drink credits?

When I last looked at the registers (and I admit it's been a bit), they entered the items separately, but the payment method (DDP, etc.) was still one button. Overall, I don't ever see this happening. The credits are meant to purchase a complete meal at one location. It's no different than saying you want to order an entree from one TS location and dessert from a different TS location.

I understand that quick service meals includes dessert. At Starring Rolls Café they have a couple of quick service meals and TONS of snack pastries. Do you get to choose from their large assortment of pastries for dessert or will they give you a select few choices?

You pick from the large assortment. Their cupcakes are YUM. Boardwalk bakery offers some great dessert options as do the French and Norwegian bakeries.

You will get to choose from pretty much all of the desserts at Starring Rolls. If anything is not included, such as the Treasure Chest dessert at Starring Rolls, there will be a sign or the CM helping you will let you know.

Last time we were there, Toluca Turkey Legs didn't have a dessert. You could use a QS credit for the leg, chips and a drink but it would have been a waste of a credit.

If dessert isn't included at breakfast are you better off skipping breakfast on the dining plan or do you get an extra drink or something?

You do not get an extra drink at breakfast, you just forfeit the dessert part.

Breakfasts are notoriously the worst value on the dining plan for this reason, unless if you're maybe doing a buffet/character meal. But even still, breakfast buffets are the cheapest kind of buffet.
