Is deluxe worth it?

I would definitely be in the 'worth it' crowd to me. So many adults are in you party, and you all have your places you want to try. I think you'll be better off. Just be prepared for a lot of food, and running around to get to your places to eat. Heck for me, that's my favorite part of the vacation.

I think it really depends on how you define "worth it." I don't quite understand the concern than you will spend all of your time running around for ADRs and eating, though. I suppose that if it is of paramount importance to you to spend every waking minute on a ride or at an attraction, then the DxDDp might be too much time, but otherwise, I don't see it.

My husband and I did it for our anniversary trip last year and while we're still not sure we loved everything about it, in the end, it was still probably the best deal for us. We did several days worth of breakfast or lunch and then a late dinner at a signature restaraunt. This worked really well for us, as getting to eat at a lot of those places (Jiko, Flying Fish, and Cali Grille, among them) was a big part of the trip for us. It was great not to worry about what we were spending, especially for my husband who doesn't love spending money, so having it done in advance took a lot of stress out of it. Did we necessarily save a ton? Probably not. We certainly at least broke even, though.

To make the most of it, though, you absolutely need a solid plan and you should want to eat at several signatures. As a counterpoint, on our upcoming trip with our three year old, we know we're going to do a bunch of buffets and counter service, so DxDDp doesn't make much sense. But I could see that it might again in the future! I say, go for it!

Cafeen... I guess I didn't articulate my response very well. I can 'see' how it could be worth it but IMHO too much time would be spent running around and eating! lol! As I said, DH is a chef, we love to eat and are very adventurous eaters but we are on a WDW vacation. Once upon a time when disney started offering packages (2001ish I think) we did do a dining plan. At time there were not limitations on where to eat and apps & tips were included. I think the only thing excluded was V&As...we spent sooo much time running around eating it really took away from our vacation. So for our family who will probably buy an app at every dinner, will eat TS at every dinner, will probably buy an extra snack or two and probably a CS breakfast or 2...it isn't worth it.
Ahh, so yup, it's about "style" then, which is perfectly valid :). In other words, you can't see how it would be a value for you, which is very understandable. The time investment sure is something to consider, especially if you do 3 meals/day rather than 2.

Thanks for the clarification, and we're still on the same page.

We are definitely in the 'Worth it' category :) We loved eating at all of the different restaurants, character meals, signatures. We had some great experiences - Princess storybook breakfast, lunch at the castle, phantasmic dinner package, characters, characters, characters.....

Seeing the bills from some of our meals made my eyes pop out  ... appetizers, meals, desserts - you feel like royalty. We never eat that way at home and got to eat some really amazing food.

However - we did feel like we were going from one ADR to the next. Our trip was built around ADR's. We were a group of 6 so we didn't always get the ADR at the exact time we wanted. Sometimes we had to let our ADR's decide our plan for the day.

Next trip (Sep.) we are doing regular dining package. Want to spend some more time on rides, doing shows, etc.:woohoo:

Would we do Deluxe again??? Definitely but not every trip.
