Is Dec 12-19 Going to be a lot busier than Dec 5-12?

We are having to readjust our December Grand Gathering trip to a week later much to my and dh's dismay We originally were going the 5-12, but now some of the family is only available the next week.

Dh is not at all happy to be going so close to Christmas, and I am disappointed to have the delay, but hey...it still is Disney in Dec!!

So, will we find a lot more crowded conditions? Last year we went the 7-14, and that was great, so we were hoping for similiar conditions.

No, it won't be significantly more crowded. The real December crowds don't start until a couple of days before Christmas. There will probably be more people in the parks during your week of December, but not so many more that you'd notice a difference.

We were there last year from Dec. 12-16 and were quite surprised at the crowd level. And the MK - throngs of people. We go every July (usually over the 4th) and thought that the crowds were almost comparable. Our bellman at the BWI said that there really isn't an off-season anymore, except maybe January. We still had a wonderful time, though. Do 2 MVMCPs if you can - we did and were very happy. One evening we watched the shows and parade and got character pictures and the next we concentrated on riding.

I also didn't notice a huge difference in the amount of people in mid-Dec (12-17) and in August (third week). MK was always pretty crowded. But, it wasn't so bad as to impact the wait times horribly.

Encounter low to moderate crowds during that time frame they will be up some from crowds during 5-12 time frame.Just arrive early use fast pass and have a basic touring plan in place and you will be fine.All the holiday decoration's and live show's,Osborne Light's,Candlelight Procssional,MVMCP, I don't think you can help it ,just face it you're going to have a great time.
