we are doing wdw in a few days and have the DDP, we took advantage of the free offer!!! My question is ---Is it truly free? are there any hidden charges we need to know about? For example, at cap n jacks there is the twin lobster, my hubby really wants that. Is that really free for the ddp? Sounds too good to be true? Hopefully you all will ease my mind. Thanks!!
Jill

Yes the lobster at Captain Jacks are including in the DDP. As to restrictions, there a few at certain restaurants but not many. Generally you will be able to order any appetizer, entree and dessert. If you are not sure simply ask your server.

We were at Capt'n Jacks Saturday on the Free DDP. My DS10 got the twin lobster tails and hubby ordered the steak and was told that for DDP the lobster tail was automatically added on to the steak order but couldn't be added to other entrees unless you paid the $12. So DH had the steak with the lobster tail added as part of the DDP and I ate it for him.

Told bill paid for by the DDP = $187 for DH, Me, DS10 and DS6

You can't complain about free food. I personally wouldn't pay $187 for a meal for 4 people so the free DDP gave us the opportunity to eat at places we would never normally eat at.

This is great!! We too wouldnt normally eat at these places either, but thanks to the free ddp!! This is soo great!!,

It's not really "free" though -- you're paying full price for hotel rooms during the heart of hurricane season, where, during previous years, very deep discounts were available. While you're still probably coming out ahead, it's only by a small amount over what you could have gotten in previous years, taking the discounted hotel room rates.

It really depends on the number of guests and the resort category you select. A family of 4, staying in a value resort, gets a great deal with free dining. A family with 3A (parents, teenager) 1C is basically getting a value room for free. A couple staying in AKL or WL doesn't do much better than with the discounts that were previously offered during hurricane season. A few couples staying in the more expensive deluxe resort room categories actually found they were saving money if they paid for dining but got a AAA discount on the room.
