Is DDP better for shorter trips?

Over on one of the DVC boards, we were discussing the DDP and several comparisons came up which led to this question.

Is DDP better for a 5-7 day trip than for a 10-14 day (or longer) trip?

Because of our proximity, we typically go to WDW several times a year, in 4-5 day trips...and we LOVE DDP! But I wonder if one gets tired of it after a week or more? Or if it's less of a benefit, for whatever reason?

I'd love to hear the opinions of some of our European members (or anyone else), who typically visit for 10+ days at a time.

I think it really depends on how much you like to eat when you're on vacation! I know for me, I like to pig out at the best of times and I see vacation as a time to indulge! Especially since we can walk a lot of those calories off in the parks! I'm going to use it in a couple of weeks for a 12 day stay so I can let you know how it goes! I would also check the exchange rate on currency if you're coming from outside the USA. Coming from Canada, the exchange isn't too bad right now but can fluctate pretty good so I think it would save me money personally.

Jim, we just returned from 15 days on DDP broken up as follows:
3 days free dining
9 days on DVC points
3 days free dining

For some strange reason, It was easier to use/manage the credits up for the shorter (3 day) spans than for the 9 day span. We ended up forfeting 2 CS off of the 9 day span... We were generally more conservative with CS and snacks in the beginning of the 9 days and ended up with at least 11 CS with 2 days to go.

For us, I was tired of eating like that after 6 days. I can't imagine doing it for much longer than that. Eating out just gets old after awhile. Especially with the CS meals and snacks. It wasn't so much the TS meals.
