...Wonderland Tea Party??? She is VERY much into her TWEENness!!! Is this event too young for her! She has definitely outgrown the princess phase! Very much into HSM, Hannah Montana, Cheetah Girls, etc!! We arrive tomorrow afternoon and I am STILL trying to find one surprise event for her!!! BBB is booked and not truly worth our money, since she just got her braided for the trip, so they couldn't do her hair anyways!!! Loved the idea for the POPSTAR or DIVA!!! HELP!!!

i have an 8 1/2 yo dd who is also very over princesses, shes even over hannah. if it isnt miley cyrus, she wants nothing to do with it.

well at home anyway....when we get to disney shes much different. she eats it all up. so i know my daughter would love it. but my daughters funny she would also just love the pirate adveture. really i think anything we do there would be loved.

so i say go for it!!!

When my DD was younger her 8 year old cousin went with her. My niece was the oldest there. She had a good time but I am not sure if it was b/c she focused on my DD. It could be different now but I really think my DD9 would think it is a little lame.

I think that it's easy for kids (and adults) to get into the Disney spirit once they arrive at the parks. She'll likely enjoy the tea party.

Sounds like she is too "old" for the party esp if she is attending by herself. I'd skip it. She will likely be the oldest there.

Maybe a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant for the 2 of you? Is she in to that sort of thing?

You may want to revisit the BBB idea. Is the BBB at DTD booked also? It looks like the pop princess and diva styles are mostly brightly colored hair pieces, so it really would not matter if your DD's hair is braided, they could just add and style the pieces, and still do the make up, pixie dust, nails, and sash!

I can't imagine she would be the first kid with braids already done. I'm sure they run into it with some frequency, same with girls with really short hair.

I agree. My DD8 didn't want to go to Disney in 2006 because she thought it was be too babyish. Boy, was she shocked when we got there! Now she's a Disney addict just like her mom, and we'll be returning again this year for the 3rd year in a row.

Things that are too "young" for her at home, are still "cool" at Disney. ;)
