Is David Blaine a Daredevil or just plain crazy?

Why would anyone do this. I can't believe that someone would put their body thru these stunts for fame and fortune.

Could it possibly be a hoax. I personally don't think so but I'm pretty naive (sp).

Crazy....

I don't get it at all. I am in a hotel and my view options are limited... I am watching the weather channel... gives you an idea of where this stunt lands on my scale of priorities....

He is an illusionist.. Wether or not this is FULLY Real, is another story. Is it cool? Sure. Is he crazy? Yup. But the tooth trick and the shoe tying trick was pretty darned neat.

He didn't make it to the record!

Oh well-

Who is he? :confused3

a crazy illusionist. His 'stunts' all seem to fake to be true but I don't know.
Tonight's involved trying to hold his breath under water for almost 9 minutes! and this is ater he had been submerged in a tank of water (with a breathing tube) for about one week!

Dan,
If you don't know who he is you are not missing anything.......

Dan,

David Blaine is a magician/illusionist who does bizarre, death defying stunts. In past years, he's had himself frozen in a block of ice and buried alive. Last Monday, he entered a HUGE globe of water that was set up in Lincoln center and he stayed submerged all week breathing and eating through tubes. Then this evening, he was 'tied up' in chains and handcuffs and had to escape from those while still submerged AND while holding his breath. He hoped to break the breath-holding record of 8 minutes 58 seconds--but he only managed 7 minutes and 8 second before he had to be rescued.

It's funny because my DH said when he was in England the British threw food at him and told him to get a real job. My sentiments exactly :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: so true, they also sent remote control helicopters with hotdogs and burgers attached to him to try and tempt him to eat!

Gots to love the British (even if I am Irish HA!) :rotfl2:

I don't think his stunts are fake. It was clear, he was hurting last night when they pulled him out of the tank.

Plus, if it was a hoax, he'd have broken the world record, which he failed to do.

I don't understand all the hatred.

The man is an entertainer, and he pushes the limits of his endurance.

Why anyone feels good throwing food at him is beyond me. :confused3

I think he is a wonderful illusionist, very entertaining, and I respect what he tries to do. You don't have to understand it; if you don't like it, don't watch.

I can't wait to hear his interview tomorrow.
