Is CRT really worth 2 TS credits?

Well the Disney magic has begun. Yesterday I decided that I could afford to take my two oldest boys with me for 5 nights to Disney, but only if we went before our annual passes expired on Feb. 3rd. So, I called yesterday and booked All Star Movies for Jan. 27th-Feb. 1st. I called this morning to make my ADRs and of course a lot of them were not available, including CRT for lunch or dinner any of the days we are there. I have been trying for the last 5years to get into CRT to no avail.

Anyways the point is this. I called tonight and the woman said they did have a 5:10pm on the 28th. I snatched it right up and was so happy about it, but now I am beginning to second guess myself. I mean I have always wanted to eat in the castle, and the pictures are a definite bonus, but is it really worth 2TS credits. I mean were your kids really awed by it or was it like any other character meal, and eating in the castle wasn't such a big deal? I ask this because of course I had to cancel two of our other TS meals to make room for this one. One was another character meal that I had set up, and the other was at Wolfgang Pucks in DD, which was my selfish mommy meal because I have always wanted to eat there LOL. So what do you think, is it worth it?

My boys LOVED it. They are littlier though. But it was very neat. And we will do it again. I would love to do it this trip but as you did I planned a trip this week for 2/6 - 2/11 and haven't been able to get CRT. But I will keep trying. Congrats to you. I think CRT is something everyone should try once.

Its worth it if its worth it to you. I think everyone should eat in the castle at least once.

There are no princesses in the dining room at dinner though. With no princesses, and that pricey meal, you have to decide if its worth it.

Did you do breakfast, lunch or dinner? I'd like to try CRT on our next trip for dinner. My older son (almost 6 yrs old) said he wants to eat at the "Castle", but he does not like princesses. But I think it will be neat just to have a meal there.

I hated it. Food was lousy. $40 bucks for a turkey sandwich--you'd think they could honor a request for a different cheese...cheese they had served earlier with our appetizer...waste of 2 TS credits.

After 13 visits to Disney; we FINALLY got in but only for 2 - so my daughter and I went for lunch...she is over 10 so at the adult price...needless to say she picked the ham off the croisant and didnt really eat much at all..very expensive. Cinderella was called away just as we approached the front of the picture line and we never saw her again! Only a table visit from the Fairy Godmother! I can finally say we eat in the castle but was it "worth it" I'd have to really think about that one.... YES, we were IN the castle after all, but probably won't do it again... until I have grandchildren I guess!

I think I am going to stick with it this trip, just to let my boys eat at the castle once. Like I said I wanted to do it when they were younger, but nothing ever came open. The two boys I am taking with me are 7 and 6,and we ate at Akershush (spelling ?) last year. They liked it, and my DS7 said he wouldn't mind going back there, so I don't think that the princesses will be an issue. Also, since I wasn't able to get into a photo pass share thing, these will probably be the only professional photos I have on the trip. I doubt we would do it again after this, except to take my two youngest when they are ready. Thanks for everyone's input, I really appreciate it.

I haven't eaten there - yet! I have reservations for dinner during our upcoming trip. On our last trip we had dinner reservations and my daughter got a migraine on the way to dinner so of course we had to cancel. DD15 and DS12 were heartbroken and when asked where they wanted to eat this time around both said "the castle!" first and foremost. I think it must be very important to eat in the castle if even my older kids were so adamant about it. Course us grown up kids are pretty excited about it too!:yay:

For us, it wasn't. We had dinner there. Cinderella had photos done in the front, which they gave copies for free. But the food was not good. We decided not to go back.

two summers when my daughter was 3 and 4 and my sone was 7 and 8. My daughter absolutely loved it. That's the place in Disney she talks about the most. She is into princesses though. She wore he Aurora dress both times. Next time we'll be combining BBB session with the CRT. I think my son probably though it was abou the same as the meals we did.

It can be expensive. This is supposed to be mitigated somewhat by including the picture with Cinderella as part of the price. The value is going to be dependent on the family involved. Seeing the smile on my daughter's face when she is there provided an easy answer for us.

We will see if it is worth it also.
My DS 12 and his BFF 13 want to eat in the Castle
so we will be going for Dinner.
I don't think that they could take all the little
girls dressed like princesses and the noise.
I think having the experiance of eating inside the
Castle itself will be worth it.

I really enjoyed the princess breakfast in Norway at Epcot. While it's not an actual castle, it still had a cool atmosphere, 5 princesses, and was only 1 TS credit.

We did go to the princess dinner in Norway last year, and the boys really liked it, but they have always wanted to eat in the Castle, so I will give it a go this one time. The princess dinner in Norway is really good though. I am lucky that my boys like the princesses and have no problem being around all the girly stuff, because 4 boys is all I have :rotfl2: .

We ate there for dinner on our last trip when our kids were dd(3) ds(7) ds(10) and they just thought it was okay. For the price you pay i would think the food would be alot better.
We are going in May and CRT is not on our ADR list as there are many others that we like better.

I do not think any of the resturants are worth 2 credits.

Food - bad
Service - eh

Eating in the Castle -- PRICELESS.

If you were otherwise going to use the 2TS credits for, say, Jiko, I'd say no, it's not worth it. Eating in the Castle is certainly worth 2TS, if you would otherwise do a different character meal and Wolfgang Pucks. I'd just pay OOP at Wolfgang Pucks and do the Castle.

Our boys always loved it when they were younger. They tolerated the princesses (we used to do the lunch), but simply loved the whole eating in the Castle thing. And, the photo is high quality and very cute (we were pleasantly surprised).

byoung -- what? No restaurant worth 2TS? Actually, I question whether there are any restaurants left that are worth 1TS. The 1TS restaurants have declined so much in quality, we eat only at 2TS restaurants. They are the only restaurants at which one can get a decent meal anymore.
