I took a 9:05 breakfast ressie at CRT on the first day of our first trip. Is this a bad idea? Not only will we miss the first hour of touring, but will it be hard for the kids to get into the park, and go right in to sit down and eat at the castle? Or, will that be really cool to experience right off the bat? DDs are 4 and 6.

It would be better at 8:05 but with the age of your girls I don't think you need to rush off to get to BTM or SM first thing. I personally think that breakfast with the Princesses is the best way to start the first day.

Do the girls know that you are having breakfast with the Princesses? What a wonderful surprise if they do not. First day at the castle. Our 4 year old was in tears when she saw the castle for the first time. All she wanted to do was go inside. Breakfast was the best thing to do.

My cousin is going soon and she has an early morning BBB appointment and then a CRT ressie. That would also be a great surprise.

Also keep in mind that when you walk into the magic kingdom you really can not see anything but shops and the castle.

they don't even know we are going to Disney! They know we are thinking about going, but don't realize that you can eat with any of the characters, so I'm starting to think it might be a special way to start the trip! We plan to hit MK twice, anyway, so we can always go on any rides we miss on the next day there!

if you can get earlier, I'd do earlier.... but personally, I think you're fine. They're going to be so excited to eat in the castle that anything else can wait ! We did CRT for breakfast our first day too....we had 8:05 ADR's, so we got in before the park opened and got terrific pics of our DD in front of the castle. (that's why we wanted the earlier ADR) but, she didn't even think about the rides or anything....

Do they know yet that they're eating in the castle ?? I'll tell you how we told our DD (who was 4 1/2) in case you need a fun idea ...... I pre-made an invitation for breakfast in the castle all written in glitter. We brought that along w/ a Cinderella dress (that she hadn't seen yet) so while she was still asleep, we put the dress and the invitation on the bed. When she woke up, that's what she saw! we had to read the invitation to her, but it was really alot of fun seeing her eyes get as big as dinner plates!!!! :lovestruc

You should arrive about a half hour before your ressie so if the park does not open until nine you will be some what alone in the MK. There is a special dining ressie turnstile that will be open look for the signs.

We printed up an invitation to our Gracie--and presented it to her that morning. We actually put it on her nightstand after she was asleep. She wore her Cinderella dress and crown and had a blast. It read Princess Cinderella has requested you join her and her friends for breakfast at her castle in the magic Kingdom with the date and time. She was so excited she could not get out of bed fast enough.

The year before that we shipped Halloween costumes ahead of time so they were there when we arrived. We included a phoney note from Mickey inviting our little ones to wear the costumes to the halloween Party. They spent the next 3 days telling everyone that Mickey sent them costumes to wear to his party. It was so cute. I love surprising the little ones.
