Is Coronavirus affecting your travel plans?

We're supposed to go to Great Wolf Lodge in two weeks. We'd be driving, obviously, and so far no cases in our home state or the state where the GWL is... but still... I feel like that place is a germ fest under the best of circumstances.
We can cancel up to 7 days in advance with a minor cancellation fee, then it gets expensive. So I have a few more days to decide easily.
DH says I'm being paranoid. I'm leaning towards going as long as there aren't any school/work/gathering guidance issue for these areas between now and then.
Is that irresponsible... who knows...

Masks will only help when you have the right type and you know how to put it on properly and don't remove it. Here in my counry (NL) they only focus on washing your hands etc. but masks are useless, they basically say.

As far as masks go, where I can see them being useful for myself is that they would keep me from touching my mouth/nose. Just in the last week or so I've been cognizant of how many times my hands go to my face. And no matter how careful you are, your hands touch a lot of crap!

I'm really quite upset about this I was so looking forwards to a DCL and DW stay in May and I was hoping that by then things would have settled but atmnot looks like May will probably be the peak. So I'm really unsure on what to do.

As of now, we are still going on our DCL cruise at the end of April. I have been very worried but I finally realized I just cannot worry about this right now. There is nothing I can do. (other than wash my hands ).

My wife feels the same way about it being a germ-fest. But man you can taste the chlorine in the air its so strong.

My thought on this is if you and your husband are healthy. Go. Even if you did catch this, it does not seem to be affecting those that are healthy horribly and children in general seem to not develop symptoms.

Thanks for the encouragement! Beyond the all germs thing what concerns me the most is that I have an Italian passport, although I don't live in Italy. I'm afraid that they can just refuse me entry and being a family of 6 that's a lot of wasted money.

As you get closer to the sail date, i would give Disney a call and just talk to them about that. At this point in time so much can change between now and the end of April. I am fine with still going because it doesn't seem to affect younger (I have decided 42 is young ) people and kids really badly. My parents in their 70s are also coming. They are healthy but I have made it very clear that it is their call if they want to cancel and we completely understand if they want to.

Speaking of germ fests, NYC just announced they'll be disinfecting the subway stations daily and the cars once every 3 days. WooHoo.
Wonder if they'll hire pole dancers for the subway cars cleanups? I mean it could be entertaining

We have a wedding to go to in a month. We are driving so I'm not too worried but honestly right now I'd prefer to not travel. Our state has no confirmed cases so I feel pretty safe. I actually feel safe in general although I do worry about my parents just because I know that the people at most risk are older folks.

My company just came out with no unnecessary travel (and absolutely no air travel unless approved), they cancelled all our presence at trade shows and conferences, no travelling to other company offices for meetings. I'm pretty surprised by it to be honest. I regularly travel to our office in NYC, won't be doing that until the bans are lifted.

Nope - we are going to Hilton Head Disney resort in a few weeks via airplane. Barring any travel bans which I dont think are happening in 18 days, we are going.

My company did the same. No travel until further notice and with your managers approval you can work from home full time. If you travel for personal reasons to any of the CDC indicated countries you can't go back to an office location until the 14 day quarantine period.
