Hello never been there so is Coral Reef worth to pay out of pocket would just get an entree and dessert maybe thanks

I think the atmosphere is well worth it!! You could even share a dessert...we did....we were soooo full after our meals and the yummy bread....I couldnt eat the chocolate wave all by myself!! I will definitely be going back!!:cool1:

I would have to say no, although my 2007 visit was much better than my 2006 visit. Yes the atmosphere is awesome and even better on free dining. But...the tank is the same one you can see from other parts of the Living Seas. You even see it in the new Nemo and Friends attraction. Can you go for just dessert I wonder?? I would do that as I agree the Wave is not to be missed.

We were there last week -- I would recommend going for dessert only if you want to try it but you're concerned about cost. Lunch (1 specialty drink, 2 entrees and 1 dessert) ran us over $60 (we weren't on the dining plan). The food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant, but I don't think those were worth the cost. However, the chocolate wave dessert was awesome!!!:thumbsup2

We were there 3 or four trips ago. I was very disappointed. The kids pizza was fishy tasting and the bouillabaisse was horrible. That was only one visit from one family. We plan on trying it again this trip...hey everyone deserves another chance.

My hubby and I ate there over a year ago. We were unimpressed with the steak, although the view & service was nice!

I ate there for the first time on Saturday and enjoyed it very much. If paying out of pocket I would suggest going for lunch, or just dessert. Aside from the tank, the rest of the dining room is beautiful with mosaic accents and nice lighting.

I think I would take the previous advice and enjoy desert there. It's a beautiful restaurant but honestly the food and the service were horrible both times we went.

We enjoyed lunch there. It was one of the best meals of our trip. Service and food were fantastic. We did entrees and fun cocktails (no dessert). I had something called an Octopus Juice that was excellent. The prices didn't seem out of line compared to other Disney fine dining venues, especially when you consider the beauty and uniqueness of the dining room.

We paid OOP for lunch. Had the Lobster Bisque. Very much worth it on it's own. And the Chicken Ceasar Salad. Very much worth it. IMO. popcorn::

We just ate there for the first time last month, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. You will find a lot of negative reviews on here from last year, but it seems to be getting great reviews this year. We payed oop (as we always do, since we don't eat enough to get use of the ddp) and we thought it was totally worth it. One of our favorite experiences - great atmosphere and the food was good too.

In my opinion...NO! We dined there this past Feb. and other than the tanks, we did not enjoy it at all! The food selection was not that big to choose from, and the food itself was below average! For the prices it was definately not worth it. We were on the DDP though. Service was not the best and it was really really loud!

We thought the steaks were great! We loved our meal and the chocolate wave and jack daniels mousse were both awesome. That mousse packs quite a punch! I would pay OOP for this and just skip the appetizer b/c we were so full.

The atmosphere and tanks are beautiful and we got to watch a group of divers along with the fish!
