Is Concierge worth it for just one night?

DD and I will be spending one night at the GF (Christmas Day) and was wondering whether it would be worth the extra expense for just the one night stay.

Thanks for any input.

...(taking into account the moving around and everything), but does GF offer any neat extras for concierge? We're staying 2 nights at AKL, and if I could swing it, I'd consider upgrading to concierge, so that we could do the sunrise or sunset safari. It's only open to concierge guests. If GF had some huge extra that was worth it to me, I'd consider it.

Just my 2 cents,

Kris

Nothing that I can find.......

But for AKL, the safari is definately a must do......

Scratch, were you considering upgrading to the main building concierge or sugar loaf? Also, would you be spending most of the day at the resort? If you answered main building and yes, then I'd have to say, that it would probably be worth it.

Yes, you would have to pack up your other room a little bit early, but as it's for only one night, you could live out of a day bag. The Disney resorts will take care of moving your luggage between the 2 places. Even if your new room is not ready, you still have that beautiful lounge to relax in. The decorations are beautiful and you'll be overlooking that great tree and in the evening, the orchestra will be playing on the floor below yours. If you did want to get a little crazy and go into the MK on Christmas, then you're only one monorail stop away.

Even if you aren't staying in concierge for your full stay, I've heard of many instances where they will still make all of your priority seating arrangements for you and anything else that you need. That's a nice perk, considering the time of year that you are going.

Tammi,

So since we are not allowed to technically check in until 4:00 p.m. but if we arrive say at 11:00 a.m., we still can use the Concierge Lounge for the day?

TIA

Absolutely. We've arrived for check in as early as 8:30am and have used the lounge for breakfast. They have a private check in, so when you arrive, just let them know you are a concierge guest. Someone will come down to meet you and you can bypass the normal registration desk. Once you get your room key, that will give you elevator access to the 3rd, 4th and 5th floor of the main building. Even after you check out of your room the following day, you still have lounge privelages until late that night.

If you decide to take the plunge, let me know. I can send you the e-mail address for the GF pre-planners. When you have your reservation, get in contact with them and let them know your plans. You can inform them that you are transferring from another resort or another room at the GF. They'll notate that and it could help in having your room ready a little bit earlier.

Thanks,

But unfortunately when I called just now, there was no availability! Well maybe next time.

But thanks for the information so now I know that for next time!

Scratch don't do it don't fall into the concierge trap it is not worth the money for 1 night or 10 nights. Get a fridge and buy your own beer and snacks for the room it will be cheaper in the long run and it will be just as much fun.

Lisa, everyone is different and concierge is not a trap. A bug maybe, but not a trap (hi to the lounge lizards). Some of us don't mind spending the extra money for the pampering and the extra services. Disney is our only vacation, I haven't had a new car in many, many years, I take care of a family of 3 plus 1 husband 365 days of the year. For 5 or 6 days, I'm very happy to have someone else take care of me for a change. Of course if we didn't do concierge, I could probably afford other vacations or more trips to Disney, but I like what I like and I have no regrets. That's why I love Disney, it has something for everyone.

Scratch, sorry it didn't work out for you. Maybe next time.

But we're goin' to BCV after that so I thought we would see how the other half lives for the one night!

Tammi, Ignore Lisa! I do!LOL

Thanks for your help Tammi!
