Is concierge service different between 12th and 14th floor at the CR?

I know that concierge services end at 4pm on the 12th floor, but is there a difference in the service you get from the CMs? Are you more likely to get CRT if you stay on the 14th floor? What about special occassions, are you more likely to get special treatment on the 14th floor? I guess what I'm asking is there more to the 14th floor than just evening food and drink offerings to justify the price difference.

I just returned from the 14th floor of the CR and loved it!
There are no pre-planning IPO differences, you will get the same treatment as any concierge guest, makes no difference if you're 12th floor or 14th floor Presidential Suite guest, as I was.

The food offerings in the evening at the CR 14th floor are incredible!
Truely the best on WDW property!!!!
We had lambchops, duck, huge scampied shrimp....as well as other hot horsd'ourves (sp) and various breads, crackers, cheeses...and outstanding desserts.
Straight from the California Grill! Simply superb!

Also, when we checked in, we were whisked up to the 14th floor immediately!
It seems as though the CMs drop whatever they are doing to wait on you!
12th floor guest, on the other hand, have to check-in with the other non-concierge guests.

Also, the 14th floor has a fabulous lounge with huge balconies to enjoy the MK fireworks.

Yes, it IS worth every extra penney, IMHO!

We have a 14th floor MK view ( 2 queens) booked for part of our Feb trip. This will be the first time DH is coming to WDW with us. Normally my 2 dds ( 4 and 7) and I go by ourselves. We are also celebrating our 13th anniversary. I really want DH's socks to be knocked off! How are the 14th floor rooms compared to the rest of Cr? I know they don't have daybeds. The pictures on Deb's site only show the king room. Are the balconies on the 14th floor larger than others in the tower? So sorry for the 1,000 questions! I have stayed in the Garden Suite at the CR, but never concierge. Our concierge experiences have always been at the Poly. The Poly concierge experiences were awsome. I guess I just have high expectations. I liked the fact that when you arrived at the Poly you were wisked back to Concierge and greeted. The kids loved the sand pails and leis.

Yes, the balconies are MUCH larger than the other tower rooms!

I also have the complete floor plan of the 14th floor in my possesion!

If you have a code CY room, you will have 2 queens and one CY room faces MK, the other baylake.

BambiTamby - I'm dying to hear the FULL, detail-dripping trip report - with pictures and that map!! We have a 14th floor room booked for the beg. of Oct. - but to tell the truth -I've sort of been waffleing about saving some money and going elsewhere - a little encouragement would be great!! Bambi, please don't think we are trying to rush you into your trip report, but ............HURRY! I am so glad you had a good time at the CR. Any and all details will be greatly appreciated.

Be sure to check in as early as possible. I had requested a MK view and when we got there around 10 am they didn't have anything available. They cannot guarantee a MK view room.

I spoke to the concierge and they did everything possible at that time but still no luck. Finally, I guess they had done some rearranging or something because 30 minutes later they moved us into a room with a MK view. I tipped her $20 for all of her work.

I guess with the concierge level everyone wants a MK view with the extra money they are spending.

If you don't get a MK room, let the concierge know, they will work hard to get you one if they can.

We stayed at the Contemporary 14th floor concierge for the first time in April and really enjoyed it! The rooms and balconies are HUGE! Really, you could hold a DIS meet on the balcony!

We had requested a MK view but did not get it. I was disappointed for about 5 seconds when we saw our room. We could see the high fireworks from EPCOT. The view is incredible and it's fun to sit back and watch all the activity on the water. (The parasailers and the hot air balloons in the a.m. were my favorites)

We loved watching the MK fireworks from the lounge balcony a couple of nights. We also enjoyed the short walk back to the resort when so many other people were trying to get on the buses, monorails or boats.

The resort IS dated, but that's what makes it fun! And a monorail goes through it - where else can you say that?? DH had ALWAYS wanted to stay there so we tried it. Right now we are planning on splitting a November stay with the CR (14th floor again) and the YC.

We had woderful experiences with every CM we met at the Contemporary!

Thanks for all the info. How do the bathrooms compare to the rest of Cr? Are they anymore luxurious, than other rooms in the hotel? I know that the California Grill supplies the food for the 14th floor, are all the items gourmet? Do they still have offerings for the kids?

Yes, they have P&B uncrustables for all the kids, plastic bottled juices, milks, boxed cereals, etc.....

Bathrooms are HUGE!
double sinks and plenty of room!
