Is Columbus Day a Florida school holiday?

Here in CT my kids have the day off, but my sister's kids in WI don't get it off. Just wondering if Florida kids have the day off or not? If they do, I would suppose the parks are more crowded that Monday as opposed to other Mondays.

Orlando (Orange county) does not have it off. The only days in October they have off is Oct. 16-17 which is the Thursday and Friday after Columbus day. (It is the end of a marking period for grades and gives the teachers a chance to do report cards and one of the days is a teacher professional day)

Columbus Day seems like such a hard holiday to guage. Here in Texas my 2 school ages ds--one has the 13 & 14 off and the other has neither off. They are in different school districts.

I just checked the Osceola County (Kissimmee) school calendar online and they are off for Columbus Day.
