We went to CM two weeks ago for breakfast, had not been there for 3 years (and honestly - I didn't remember the food at all that trip - it was my first time ever at WDW!!!)
When we went on 4/9, it was my sister (who is extremely picky when she eats out), myself, DD9 and DGreatNephew6. We all enjoyed it very much. The characters were great (some of the other diners - not so much), and the food was good basic breakfast food for the most part! My sister even complimented the breakfast pizza - and she is hard to please!!! It is buffet food - not five star dining - but when we go to the character meals, I really go for the characters first, and the food second.
Someone commented on another thread where there were all positive comments about Donald's Breakfastasaurus at AK, that it was strange because another post had all negative comments. It is all personal taste/preference, as well asl their individual experience. If you are having a "not so Magical" day for one reason or another... you might put a "not so Magical" spin on the dining experience as well.
I have been trying all the character meals in recent months - we are through just about all of them, we are fortunate in that respect that we live close and can go - just to eat.... but I have not been totally disappointed by any, some are higher up on my list than others, but that is my personal experience! I realize when you are vacationing, and you have a family of some size (we are just and adult and a child (for a few more month))- that it could be quite a financial investment to eat somewhere that you don't care for, and that can cause concern in making your choices!
I guess i'm the same with movies, etc. If it is something that looks interesting to me, I will check it out - even if the majority of reviews are negative!
My vote is
for Chef Mickey!
