Hi,
We'll be going April the 19th-29th, (19-23 at POP and 23-29 at CSR) Just curious about CAA. I don't have it, but i was wondering if it's worth the money in savings to get it? Can someone tell me about this? any information what so ever would be great! Thanks all!

Yep! It was worth it for us all right!!! Save around 300$ US on our next trip! :cool1:

So its a good thing to become a member, plus you'll have lots of discount everywhere!!! At local hotels, and even restaurants!

Good luck! :teeth:

One year I was fortunate enough to have my car towed by them 3 times and come start it when the battery died! Lucky me!

Well I already have auto club from Canadian Tire. So it would be only for the savings!!

IMHO, CAA is not worth it if you are looking for Disney Savings. They gave me pretty much the same quote that any other TA (online and in person) could give me so I ended up booking myself.

The best deal I got was renting points from someone on the DVC board. I paid a little less and am going to be staying at OKW instead of a moderate resort which is only what I thought I could afford.

I found, with good digging, I could get my own better rates! I haven't ever found a TA to be very helpful. Mind you, I did go to school for Tourism and have a lot of patience in doing everything on my own. I suggest the best rates come from renting points from a DVC member. I found one for this trip on this board!

Here's a link with the CAA savings:

If you are staying onsite with no other discount, then it is worth it to pay $50 for the membership. We would've saved just over $100 on our resort room on our last trip with just the CAA discount, but then a code came out and we ended up saving a lot more. You don't have to book through a CAA TA, just use the discount. It is also good for 10 - 20% off most other places - Universal, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, etc. as well as most motels and tourist attractions everywhere. And if you buy your gas at Esso or Sunoco you will most likely end up with a free membership. I haven't had to pay for my membership in years - you get points from your gas purchases that go toward your membership fees.

Oh yeah, lots of times they have specials on tickets for the attractions such as Cdn at Par or buy one get one free - I'm not sure if you have to be a member for these or not.

Just be careful if you book with a CAA TA. I found I knew a lot more (from reading these boards) than the TA knew. She told me that she had just had a trip there, and yet didn't know much about resort restaurants or other activites besides going to the parks.... She just makes calls to AAA to get her information anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong, does CAA not offer a membership that is simply for hotel etc discounts and does include any auto options? I don't see it online but I think if you call CAA it is $35/yr plus the $12 enrollment fee.
Therefore, for only $47 Cdn you could save 10 - 20% of disney rack rates.

I can't find the thread but someone posted about this on this board some time ago.

Yes they do Suzy. It is not advertised but we (I work at CAA) offer it to people who don't need road service as a retention. If asked though we will sell it to anyone. I am not at work right now but it is around the $35 mark.

So many questions....If I was to buy the 40 dollar (or whatever) CAA travel thing, and then a code came out that was better, am I allowed to change my reservation? If I do that will I lose my deposit or can I just transfer the money? Anyones opinions would be appreciated!

Also, how long is the savings good for? A year?

You wouldn't have to change your reservation. You would just call Disney and have the code applied. That is what I did in Feb. I had the room already booked with the CAA discount and then had the just released code applied. Nothing changes except the price! Even your confirmation/reservation number remains the same, unless of course you change your dates or resort.

Well I called today and they told me there was no such thing. And that they only offer a auto part. So I don't know what to say?! Are they wrong or what??

I just checked that web site and didn't see the $35 (fee) plus $12 (enrollment) = $47 membership listed.
Maybe pm tmli and she can tell you how to join. She works at CAA .

When I first called the Peterborough office (several months ago) about this , they first said they had never heard of it. After being on hold for quite a while, someone else came on the phone and told me that they do in fact sell it. I haven't actually bought one yet though.

Hi :wave2:
I recently joined CAA not just for the discounts, also cause they had a special join for $76.00 and add additional family member for free.
I have these discounts so far: My room only discount at WL is $40usd, and at Hard Rock Hotel $70usd, overnight airport hotel $45.00cdn all per night. :cool1:

Just thought I'd let everyone know. I finally got ahold of someone who knew what I was talking about, and it turns out that the 40 dollar travel only thing is only offered to people in Ontario and Quebec. Oh well now just gonna have to pray for a code of some sort!!...thanks for all the help everyone!!!
