I have stayed in a GV at OKW twice. It is wonderful and reasonably priced pointwise. BWV has GV's but they cost more points. I would like to stay there, but first I would like to like to hear from people who think it is worth the extra points to get the Grand Villa at BWV rather than OKW.

Well, this probably isn't what you wanted to hear, but I don't think they are worth the extra points.

OKW, in addition to being fewer points, is larger. Of course, the location at BWV is a plus if you're going to be spending a lot of time in Epcot.

The BWV GVs have location (all overlook the Boardwalk) and hotel amenities (such as room service & valet parking).

The OKW GVs are larger and more numerous. There are 3 to 4 times as many GVs at OKW as there are at the BWV (which have only 7).

Are the BWV worth more? Depends on what is important to you.

Best wishes -

If you want the location of BWV and the decor of BWV, then it's probably worth it to you. I love the OKW GVs, so I'm probably not a good one to aske that of. I thought the 1 level GV at BWV was magnificently appointed, but it didn't entice me to stay there for the number of points needed.

I haven't stayed in either yet, but am heading to BWV grand villa in October. :thumbsup2

My group wanted to be in the middle of things. When I get back I'll post a review.

You can ask this question about any DVC resort that is more points than another one for the same accommodation type. It all comes down to personal preferences and there are not any universal answers to this.

Following this logic all the way to its end would have you staying in studios only at Hilton Head DVC during the Adventure Season at 6 points per night. Or for WDW, staying only at OKW studios during Adventure Season at 8 points per night. After all is it "worth the extra points" to stay somewhere else, or in larger accommodations?

At some point, you have to look at the points you have and put them to the use that yields the best vacation for your family. If you think that is OKW, that's great. BWV? That's great too.

But asking if something is "worth it" is purely subjective. I'd go with your situation, the people attending and make a gut call. Good luck! :)

With GVs, the days of the week that you are staying plays a huge part in this. Look at the month of May, for example. BWV GVs are 88 points Sunday through Thursday, and 118 points on weekends. OKW GVs are 45 points during the week, and 107 on weekends. So BWV is 95% more points during the week, but only 10% more on weekends.

Would I "pay" 10% more to stay in a GV on the Boardwalk? Probably. Would I spend 95% more to stay in one? Not bloody likely!

Granted, personal preferences are subjective. But the OP asked for personal preferences, and those are mine.

To us they are worth every point. The GVs at BWV are incredible. Not only do you have an absolutely gorgeous villa to stay in, it is located in one of the most desirable locations at WDW.

I am so glad to see your reply- I have been dreaming of staying in a GV at the Boardwalk since I purchased there- someday...someday...:)
