Is BW worth the 18 year hit?

Suebeelin, we are going this weekend for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and we just booked the reservation on Friday morning, so it was really last minute. We got the villa for $386/ night plus taxes, etc.

I don't know if it matters but the offer says its 35% off for Florida Resident. I would guess that it's the same discount for AP's.

Oh and we booked thru CRO, not member services...

I thought it was a fantastic way to try the DVC at BoardWalk!!! Hope this helps...

I think it really depends a lot on your age. Just bought BW last year, and am in ROFL for Wilderness Lodge (or whatever the new name is) for my MK resort. Both expire in 2042....but, I'll be 83 in 2042....if I'm still interested in visiting every year (that would be so awesome) , I'll buy new points and leave 'em to the kids...

Hey Dawn, also in ROFR for Wilderness and will also be 83 then! We own at BLT - those will go to the kids for sure. We feel that you can get anywhere fairly easily from there and like the atmosphere.

While one may bee too old to likely use or care about the value of the underlying timeshare at some point in the future, one should at least consider the value in terms of dollars between different options. It could be throw away at some point in the future but we all hope not and that there is real value down the line. I wouldn't let the RTU make the determination between different choices (either direction) but I certainly would look at the value of each option as part of any decision and would take the best dollar value all else being equal. That's usually the longer RTU with DVC.
