I see that it is on Katella Ave. and I have read reviews that say that walk is from 10-15 min. I will have a stroller for my 4 yr old so that is not an issue. But somedays we go back to the room for a mid day break. Has anyone had any experience with this hotel? They are offering a great rate on AAA site and I am considering switching hotels:) thanks!!

I have stayed at BW Stovalls a lot in the past and I have no problem with the hotel. The walking distance is good when you cut through the GCH, it also does seem like a long walk when you leave the park. The rooms have been renovated a few years ago and are very comfortable. Free wifi is another good thing for the hotel. The continental breakfast is very good too. The only thing I don't like about the hotel is that it charges $8 for parking a car per night.

It is our preferred hotel when we visit DL. Its the closest hotel on Katella to walk from, just passed PP. The rooms are newly renovated and nice. The free breakfast is just cereal and pasteries, and very crowded. We usually stop at the Coco's right in the Stovalls parking lot. Their food is great! We usually take a midday break and head back in the evening. The walk is not bad at all. And you have views of DCA, depending on what side of the hotel you are on.

It is walking. Closer to 15 minutes than 10. It will be a bit of work when pushing that stroller back at night. It you plan to do it a couple times a day you might want to consider using ART.

What you would want to do if you walk is go up Disneyland Drive. At the crosswalk just past the PPH cross to the park side. Follow the sidewalk into the GCH front entrance. Go in the hotel make a left around the registration desk and straight along them. Keep going strait North and it will drop you into DTD. This cuts down the walk a bunch.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!! :)
skiingfast, I have made that walk from PP to DTD so I am familiar with those directions thank you!..Hmmm decisions..decisions..:rolleyes1

My family and I are staying here in August for those of you who have stayed here before, do you have any tips to pass along.

Top floor vs. bottom floor?
Location or room to request?
Is breakfast open early enough to take advantage of on an early entry day in the summer (6:00-6:30 a.m)?
Any other tips?

I appreciate your help.

If you want a view of DCA, request a room facing DCA on the third floor, preferably close to the front of the hotel...those rooms have a great view of Mickey's Fun Wheel all lit up at night :thumbsup2

I don't remember when exactly the breakfast opens in the morning, but we'd usually get there around 7 am & it was open and well-stocked.
