Is the Brown Derby worth using two table service points on the DDP? We are considering doing the Fantasmic package with the Brown Derby. Thanks!

Yes!!! I haven't done the Fantasmic Package though, just dinners, so I don't know what to tell you about that. I have only gone in Sept/Oct and there is no problem getting good seats for F! at that time of year so I don't think the side seating for the package is worth it for my trips. The food and service is fantastic at The Hollywood Brown Derby. I love the Salmon!!! And the Crab Cakes appetizer too!

I would say yes. We have done this for my birthday dinner and for our splurge dinner. I enjoyed it immensely, and during the summer when the park is crowded, it was great to have a seat waiting for us for Fantasmic without having to wait 1 1/2 hours+ in line.

Just my 2 cents.

First, I love the HBD. I have had great meals there, and even met "Screen Legend" Roman Holliday once (I hope he's there on my next visit!).

However, there are so many other wonderful 2 TS credit restaurants at WDW (CA Grill, Narcossees, Artist Point, etc.) that I would not use 2TS credits at HBD.

Another way to think about it is the "value" of a TS credit. I've heard a good rule of thumb is that at TS credit is "worth" about $25. 2 TS credits would be worth $50. Take a look at the menu and prices. Will you spend that much there?

Next trip I am going for lunch and paying OOP. All I really want is the Cobb Salad, and maybe a dessert. It might cost all of $20-35 with tax and tip. Not worth 2 TS credits to me, but if I went at dinner and ordered all the expensive stuff, it might be.

I love the Brown Derby but do not think it is worth two table service credits.

Think we may change our plans. Right now, we have the Fantasmic package for Monday, October 8. There are 4 of us on the DDP, but only 3 of us may get the meal, using 2 TS and one pay cash for the salad.

I guess we would all have to drop the package, since only 3 of us would be allowed in that particular line. Do you think it would be hard to get good seating that night at Fantasmic. We eat at 5:10 and Fantasmic is at 8.
Also, one in our party will be on a scooter, so I am assuming there is reserved seating for those in their parties anyway.

Do you think I should drop the package, which would save us 2 TS to be used at another meal?

At first, I was going to say cancel the ADR but that's Columbus Day the Food and Wine Festival is being celebrated which means more people and an EMH night at Disney MGM(or whatever you call it).

I don't think that it's worth the credits, though. Pay cash if you want to eat at the HBD. Switch your reservation from DDP to cash.

We've never had a problem getting seats at Fantasmic but I don't know with the Food and Wine Festival and the holiday, you may have diffuculty.

we thought the Brown Derby was very good, both the food and service.
In fact, our server was outstanding. She was right up there with any server we've ever had at any fine dining establishment.

we also thought the brown derby was far superior to the California Grill. We would happily return to the BD, never to the CG.

Yes We missed eating there this last trip but that won't happen again. We love it. Go for it.
