Is bread offered for free at most TS?

Just wondering if we can expect a free basket of bread as a "starter" at TS restaurants. Thanks in advance for any input!

Le Cellier has their famous breadsticks.......the buffets mostly have breads of some sort on their assortment of foods.....someone else may know of other restaurants

It depends on the restaurant. Obviously not at the buffets. Not at Sci Fi either. I know they have a fabulous garlic spread for their bread at yachtsmen Steakhouse. And the bread sticks at LeCellier.

Trying to remember other TS..I vowed to take food pictures, but it just didn't happen. Maybe on the much dreamed of, someday a reality, solo trip!

Our last trip in May 07 the following included bread...Maya, LTT, Ohana (does now...used to be chips), Tony's...there is rumor that the bread basket is back at Mama Melrose, not sure though...I will see during my Sept free dining trip

Bread is served at most if not all table service restaurants for dinner in our experience. Most restaurants no longer serve it at lunch although Mama Melrose does once again serve rolls then. Brown Derby does at lunch too.

I feel rather certain Mama's serves it at dinner as well. Our great server, Dori, told us free bread was back. She didn't specify lunch only. At Mama's it was little white rolls which may have been identical to BD's.

I think most TS restruants do serve bread. Of course, at the buffets they do not bring a basket to your table, but there is normally some type of bread on the buffet. At Garden Grille, there was cornbread and biscuits. At Tony's sliced Italian bread; O'hanna- bread, Luau-there was pineapple bread. LTT- bread basket. I do not think you are given bread at Rainforest Cafe.

The TS meal that I remember NOT having complimentary bread are Whispering Canyon (cornbread comes with the skillet, but did not otherwise)...50's Primetime Cafe...I am sure there are other's but I cannot remember off of the top of my head.

Yes, at least last time we had lunch there which was within the last year or so. Very good rolls served warm with unsalted butter.

I guess you could ask...but I would bet at some places they may not be very accommodating...I am not sure how they could. 50's primetime, for example, does not even have a bread basket that you can order and pay for...I guess if they have some sort of bread there AND you get an extra nice CM, you just might get your wish...never hurts to ask! HOWEVER...you might just get a basket full of SANDWICH BUNS!!

i hope bread is back at mama melrose. i was a bit upset on our trip this past july that we were not served bread. i never ever complain but this bothered me so much i went and spoke to the manager. i told him that i have never ever had a meal in an italian household where bread was not served. being of italian decent, it is an important part of the meal. he told me that it was new policy. i told him i understood that, apologized and went back to our table and ordered Bread!!!

i hope bread is back at mama melrose. i was a bit upset on our trip this past july that we were not served bread. i never ever complain but this bothered me so much i went and spoke to the manager. i told him that i have never ever had a meal in an italian household where bread was not served. being of italian decent, it is an important part of the meal. he told me that it was new policy. i told him i understood that, apologized and went back to our table and ordered Bread!!!

It's not a rumor. It's fact. At least at lunch. If rolls are offered at lunch it seems very unlikely they're not offered at dinner. The rolls were quite good.

Artisan breads with spreads is still an option on the menu.

I know...my husband comes from an Italian family too...in our house, we think it is not a meal if there is not bread....sometimes my 3 year old thinks it IS the main course! Thanks, BCV23 for confirming the return of bread at Mama Melrose...it will make my Italian man happy come Sept!

We ask for rolls at 50s Prime Time and get them. They bring a basket of dinner rolls. I can't have dinner without rolls!
