I'm reading the below post about the "Bottom 3" restaurants at Disney and there are a TON of people who put Boma's dinner on the list. Most of the people said everything has an overwhelming cinnamon taste. Is this true?? I thought it sounded like an incredible dinner, but if it's really no good I'd like to change my reservation!:confused3

NO! Boma is our favorite restaurant at WDW and we usually go twice during our vacations. I think people just aren't very adventurous eaters, and stick to things they recognize.

I personally love it. :lovestruc It's one of my favorite restaurants at WDW. A portion of the dishes do have some sweeter flavors - but I certainly didn't find anything to be "overwhelming" and these dishes do not make up the whole buffet.

Boma has a variety of soups and salads and yummy side dishes in addition to the carvery. I find that a lot of the flavors play well off each other - they had a really great coconut rice that was delicious with a spiced tofu dish. Of course sometimes you may pick something that you don't absolutely love, but it's a buffet! Go up and try something different. If all else fails, there's always the kids section (the mac n cheese there just seems better)!

Boma is my favourite place to eat in all of WDW!! Be adventurous!!

I will be honest 1st food is subjective what may be good to 1 may be awful to another. I tried BOMA in 2008 the quality of food was good, but the taste of it was all to similar to me&yes cinnamon is used alot, will I go back No, should U go?Yes you should try it because you may like it,the only way to know is to Go.

Always try something yourself. For every restaurant that 1000's love, an equal number hate.I am not a fan of Le Cellier, but lots are.I liked Boma well enough, this last time was merely ok.

I wouldn't cancel it. Like others have said, just because some people don't like it doesn't mean that you won't. It's a very popular restaurant. We love it. We don't go to dinner every trip, maybe every other trip, but certainly frequently.

The only way you'll know if you like it is to check it out for yourself. It may turn out to be one of your favorites. If you are interested in the menu & like to try new things, you should definately go.

I think Boma is wonderful. I love their dinner and breakfast wasn't bad either. We've been multiple times and wouldn't hesitate to go again.

If you take all the reviews into account, it doesn't seem that Boma is a BAD place overall, it's just that some people don't like it. Boma does some dishes with a kind of exotic flair, and a lot of Americans don't like that, they like their food plain. So if it sounds good to you, why not try it?

This will be the first time we don't eat at Boma since we tried it in 2004 (I think that was the first time). We like it a lot. I think it used to better then the last time we were there, but it was still very good. They have plain American style food, and lots kid friendly foods. The soups are the most exotic thing they have. The meats are typical, but there are sauces on the side that you can add. And there are a few unique side dishes. Other than that its like an typical Disney buffet with a few unusual additions, set in a exotic room, in a very exotic resort with exotic wild animals roaming around right outside. Its worth the trip to the resort, you should allow extra time to explore. Also, Tusker House in AK is very similar to Boma. If you do try it, be sure to post your opinion when you return and have a magical vacation!

I don't recall cinnamon taste :confused3

There are some different tastes, but I like it there. My DH also really likes it and is one fo the few places he requests

I would keep it and give it a try. When people give their opinions, there is NO place that everyone loves
there are lovers and haters of everything, even a dole whip :scared1: how can you not love a dole whip :rotfl:

Definitely keep your reservation and try it for yourself.

I know that I personally hate a few of the DIS' favorites, and love a place that the DIS pans overall.

I love Dolewhip Floats in WDW, (pineapple vanilla swirl), but now TDC Nala has me curious to try the ones at Disneyland.

Well I think I'll stick with my reservation, thanks for the advice!

Boma is always a must-do for our family. One of the main reasons: there something for everyone.. we are a very mixed bunch when it comes to food preferences. :goodvibes

I would keep it, there has to be something that you can eat out of a whole big buffet. I ate at so so buffets for the character dining and even though they werent great i always found something to eat.

Boma is different, but different doesn't mean bad. I'm a fairly picky eater, but I really enjoyed it last year. I loved the soups and the hummus spreads the most, but it was fun to try some unique flavors. There was a really yummy salmon dish and some good desserts, too. I've only eaten at five TS places in my last three trips, but I enjoyed them all so much. I think my attitude at Disney toward food is so different from when I'm at home. I just look at it as a grand adventure. I was really glad I tried Boma because I don't think I'll be traveling to Africa anytime soon!
