Is BOG breakfast fixed price? We are thinking we may just want to order a dessert or drink. Wondering if we will have to pay a full meal price, regardless. (We have a 10:10AM ADR)
I believe it is, now, as the breakfast menu is fixed price at $28 per adult and $15 per child and includes pastries, entree, and drink. It is a "counter service" meal for DDP credits but not in the sense that you can just order a drink and sit down for the experience. Now, whether one person could do the pre fixe meal and the other just get a cup of coffee, I'm not sure.

Nope, you can still go in and just order a drink. If you do want an entree, they're all $28 (or $15 for a kid's meal). You can order whatever you want, but you only get the pastries if someone orders an adult entree, I think.

Thank you! One follow up question, does everyone on the reservation have to order something or do they allow guests with reservations to enter just for the experience?

You can order as much or as little as you want for your whole party. 4 people could go in and split one cupcake, which seems to happen a lot, so I won't be surprised if breakfast and lunch do become fixed price at some point. But until/unless something changes, you can order whatever you want at breakfast and lunch.

But, on the breakfast menu, the only thing showing ala carte is a cupcake. So, you can't really order as little or much as you like. You can order a cupcake or you can order the $28 breakfast. There does not appear to be a way to order just the pastries or just scrambled eggs.

Right, but the question was does everyone in the party need to order something. You can split one entree between 8 people if you want, but you can’t order individual items from an entree separately. I don’t think you can really do that at other QS locations either though.
It's because it is one of Disney's greatest failures. When it was opening it was declared PRIX FIXE, which means that everyone should have been required to order ... and the original menu price was quite doable for what you got and the experience. But Disney didn't make everyone pay so hence started lots of tables full of folks sharing one or two meals so they could see the castle. You can not operate a venue that large with that much staff with so many people not ordering food. So they keep raising the price to the point that it's not reasonable for OOP guests. For that much there are so many other good breakfast options.
If they made everyone order a meal, they could cut the price in half.

We always split 2 meals for the 4 of us because it comes with pastries. It’s really only worth it for breakfast if your on the dining plan. And if your using it to get inline faster you can’t spend all morning eating.
