Is Big Thunder mountain closed the last two weeks of August ?

We were chatting "Disney" at work today and one of my friends said she had heard BTMr would be closed from mid August for three months. Has anyone any further information, this is our favourite ride at DLP and we are going the last week in August. I was really looking foreward to taking my Dad on this ride too. Angela

Angela, I'm sorry, but according to this site, it is closed then. It is then closed right through September and some of October - I wonder why?

I'm sure I read somewhere that the mountain is to be repainted in anticipation of next year's celebrations.

I'm gutted too as it's our favourite ride. I found this on here the other day but couldn't bring myself to be the bearer of bad news. However, reading it again, perhaps it is going to be open some of the time?


Luckily we arrive on the 16th, you can guess what we will spend all our first evening doing, along with most of the other people in the park!
