Is being gay a lifestyle choice?

"Many" is not one person Joe.

I don't think there was even one person who changed sexualities due to religion. There might be people (straight and gay) who are scared into remaining celebate, but that is just a behavioral thing.

There might be some people who were "finding themselves," unsure about their sexuality, and then came down on the hetero side. Not a change either, just a realization.

I know that no amount of convincing, teaching, or preaching would cause me to hop the fence, and I doubt that it would anyone else, either.

I kept sitting there thinking, "What the he**?"

Perhaps I should take a glance at the Blockbuster guide as well as the bible.

I completely agree. However, Joe has stated that he has been able to overcome his own homosexuality though prayer and faith in God, and as a result, he has been insisting that this should explain that sexuality in general is indeed a choice. I was simply addressing his opinion.

Lol, don't everyone talk at once! That's it. I remember thinking that it was not what it was hyped to be and I was thrilled about it. I thought it was good commentary on life in general and subverting our own natures whatever they are.

not a choice - it's genetic. I have a friend (male) whose boyfriend comes from a family of 9 children - four are gay, and one of the four has down's syndrome - this family alone is a prime example that it's genetic.

Unless I'm mistaken (not that it ever happens ) I don't think Joe said thatin this thread- methinks Rick and Joe go back a little further on that argument...

Whoops, I should have read page 72. Sorry. I do hope this wasn't shared in a PM and was on the boards though.

And I do think God can help you out in any area of your life if you so desire the help and ask for the help. I think people who believe in God believe in a God who is powerful, almighty etc. Therefore, God can do anything.
