Is Bay Lake Tower worth the extra splurge?

I'm talking a DVC member renting out points, and I'm between three resorts for a 5 night stay.

Pretty much Bay Lake would cost me 957 and the other two (BWIV and WLV) would be 836.

I think each of the hotels have their own positives to me at least.

BWIV would offer easy access to EPCOT and DHS, but the room decor really doesn't sit well with me.

WLV offers me the Pacific Northwest feeling I adore, access to MK, having Artist Point a short walk away, and the ability to stay in Wilderness Lodge Lite for a fraction of the price.

Bay Lake has that sleek modern feel that I really like, a walk across the sky bridge to the monorail, but during my trip California Grill would be closed :(

I'm really at a loop as to what I want to do, odds are it'll boil down between Bay Lake and WLV, but at this point I don't know.

Can anyone who stayed at these resorts try to sell me on them?

I would personally take an Epcot area resort any day, JMO pixiedust:

We ADORED Bay Lake Towers, the pool out back is awesome, the monorail access is awesome and the WALK to the MK can not be beat. I would definitely spend the extra for BLT especially if you haven't gotten to do it before.

We're DVC owners and BLT is our home resort (although we've only had a chance to stay there once, in full disclosure). We LOVED staying there, and will be back at BLT again this January. If you enjoy the MK, the ability to just stroll over and back is worth its weight in gold, and getting to EPCOT is similarly low hassle. I'm sure over time we'll want to try out other DVC properties, but for the foreseeable future, it's BLT all the way.

Feel free to let me know if you have specific questions about the place.

Stayed in BLT for a couple days back in January. Absolutely loved it. Rooms are great and quiet. The walk to MK is so valuable. If you wanted to take a break midday from MK, you just have a 10minute stroll to BLT. No waiting for your bus etc. to go back to your resort.

Getting to Epcot isn't much of a hassle as you have the bus, or hop on the monorail.

Plus, just the fact it's right by MK is just a win win situation in my opinion :D

We stayed at BLT in January-Feb 2011 in a 2 bedroom, park view and LOVED it. It was amazing! However, we have young children, so the monorail is always a plus for convenience. We also have stayed at the Beach Club for the last 2 mays and really enjoy the Boardwalk area. I think it depends on your vacation style. If you enjoy hanging out at the resort, walking the "boards" and like Epcot, then BW is the way to way. However, keep in mind that Epcot typically closes early than MK so you end up having to bus it back on MK nights. When we stayed at BLT we were able to avoid buses to Epcot, which is a plus with small kids in my opinion. BLT lacks Disney ambience in my opinion though. The rooms are gorgeous and the location is awesome but it sort of lacks that disney feel, at least for us. We didn't use the pools that trip, so i can't comment on that. We have never stayed at the WL and tend to shy away from it b/c we like having one park within walking distance.

All three are good choices. Which park do you plan on going to the most?

It would be a tie between MK and EPCOT.

However most of the ADR's I'd be making would be closer to EPCOT, I believe 4 out of the 10 I'm making are in the vicinity, Via, Tutto, Le Cellier, and Flying Fish.

Then I would rule out WLV, though a nice resort, choose convenience. BLT is a short walk to/from MK, monorail to MK, easy to get to other monorail resorts, and TTC and Epcot. BWV is an easy walk to/from Epcot and Studios or you can take the boat. Either one will be great!

We stayed at BLT in May with a bunch of our family. Being able to walk back and forth from MK when the kids started getting tired was priceless. That way some could go and some could stay and get back and forth quickly.
