Is Anyone Reading Stephen King's New Book?

I ordered it pre-release from Amazon it was one the the new books that was part of the Book Wars between Amazon, Wal-Mart and Target for $9.00.

It's the first hardcover book I have purchased since I bought my Kindle.

I started reading it and so far it's GOOD.

I did the same thing, but it's sitting on my kitchen table staring at me; it's HUGE. My kindle has totally spoiled me, I can't imagine lugging this tome around anywhere. I'll probably start it this weekend since all my classes are scheduled off for break next week. Did I mention this book is huge? :eek:

:rotfl::rotfl:
Yes it is huge. Took it with me on a patient transport to read while flying to the hospital. (And no I didnt read while taking care of patient on way back).;) The pilot asked me if I wanted a seat for the book. :rotfl2:

I found myself oddly conflicted about it. Parts of the book are very compelling and other parts seemed to drag. I thought it could have been cut by about 30% and it would have been a better read.

I was a bit let down by the ending too.

I enjoy some of his books, but I have a hard time getting into a few of his stories.

Me too, that is why I'm so reluctant to buy this new one. I couldn't get into "Lisey's Story" at all, made it half way through before I finally gave up. I hated spending money on it and then not even finishing it.

I have loved all of his "short story" books, Duma Key was good, and Cell too.

A lot of his older stuff was good too, so maybe if this new one is written the way he used to write I would enjoy it, I don't know.

Wow, wish I would have known about the $9.00 pre-release order, then I would have gotten it, darn it!

I'll probably just put my name on the waiting list at the library, but I know it's going to take forever to get it that way. Oh well.

This book sounds fascinating and I plan to read it but only after the paperback comes out. I usually don't like heavy hardbacks.

I haven't liked some of his recent stuff either but there are exceptions. I hope that this one is truly like his old stuff because I loved everyone of them!
