Is anyone NOT going out on Black Friday?

Nope, no way! I shop on-line...no tax and free shipping makes up for any of the "deals" out there. And, frankly, being around people this time of year is just disheartening.

Not me! DH is pulling a 24 hour shift and won't be home until 9am and it would take some sort of incredible deal to pull my 15 month old out of bed and risk messing up the lovely sleep schedule we finally have going on. I did buy myself 2 of the $50 iTunes gift cards that Best Buy had online for $40, saved myself $20 and didn't leave my couch. :goodvibes

Not going out here either. Last year DH and I went to our local mall since they were doing a "open at midnight" promo - however, two of our favorite stores weren't scheduled to open until 6, or something, and none of the department stores were open. Kinda lame.

Anyway, this year I've pretty much seen all the same deals online. After Thanksgiving with the family, DH and I wanted to drive around and just be out of the house so we went and scoped out our local Walmart, Best Buy, and Target. Walmart was packed! Best Buy had about 25 people in line, some didn't even have chairs (at 9 PM ) and Target had about 15. The target crowd was definitely the youngest crowd - I swear they were a line of different groups of high school students camping out.

Funniest part of the night...while we were in the shopping center, we happened to drive by Ultimate Electronics and there was ONE guy sitting there with a chair and his laptop. :rotfl: Wow, you go dude. We even attempted to sing him one of those "Here's to you" budlight radio commercial "songs." Then we returned home to our warm house, I got some stuff at JCP for around $40 and saved about $120...so there was my Black Friday--on Thursday. ;)

Was thinking about hitting Staples at 6 but the weather is cold and messy out there! Think I'll just crawl back under the covers for a few more hours!

Not going out either. Nothing in the ads caught my eye. There is nothing I need (I'm spoiled). No one in my family has given me any suggestions, so they are getting cash.. I am a veteran BF shopper, 30 years now and gave up this sport a couple of years ago when I started getting the same stuff I might want online. I bought some movies yesterday online from BB. Heck I've got a new printer and new phone still in their box from last year when I bought them and didn't really need them then. I thought of getting a new TV, but since we had our cable turned off, we figured why bother.

It's 2:49 am here and I've already been to wal-mart and were at starbucks right now so that would be a no were out here waiting for kohls to open in 10minutes

Off to work shortly. And I'm fine with that. If I had the day off, I wouldn't be out with the maddening crowd, throwing elbows, anyway.

Yup, off to work, time and 1/2...maybe half the staff will be there..nice quiet morning...I'll be done by noon and then out shopping with my dds and dg (but nowhere that it will be crazy!).

Not going out, at least not early and probably not at all. Most of my Christmas shopping is already done. Feeling super organized this year :goodvibes

Same here! I'm almost done and have done 95% of my shopping online this year....some great deals out there online if you search for them. AND most sites are offering free shipping. I set my alarm for 5:00 am this morning and then reset it when I changed my mind.....

i haven't been in years and declared 'Never Again' after that poor person was killed in the trample at Wal-Mart.

The only thing I was even semi=interested in was a Flip Video recorder and I got that for the SAME price online yesterday.

I'm doing the anti-Black Friday today. Going nowhere and spending no money (except to mail something I sold but someone else has paid the shipping). The girls and I are going to decorate our Christmas tree, which I am excited about since my kids are getting old enough to GET it.:)

I just did some online purchases-yesterday from Walmart and today from TRU. We may hit AC Moore for the 99 cent candles before my DH goes for a dr appointment, but that is it.

I'm not going. I fell down the stairs and messed up my ankle on Tuesday so I will be home snug in my bed this year in my big ugly boot.

Oh... Good luck with your ankle. I sprained mine 2.5 years ago accidentally kicking a stool. I've been through 16 weeks in a boot, cortisone shot and 2 surgeries and I'm still having issues. I hope yours gets better soon.

So far I'm not going shopping. My husband is working (yes the Fed Govt does work today) so my 5 year old is home with me. I don't want to take him out in the craziness. But I do need some bananas so we will be going to the grocery store later, which happens to be next to a Michaels so we might go in there. I looked at the prices and they didn't look that great. The Samsung 32" tv that Best Buy had? We bought that tv from Costco a year ago for the same price. And I'm almost done with my shopping anyway.

I am not shopping today... just working 7-330. DH will be going out, though- to shop for his parents and pick up a gift card for the last part of my parents' gift. I have ALL of the other shopping done already, and everything wrapped.

I didn't go out...I did it once a long time ago but it's not my thing. ;)

Nope. Not going out, well at least not to shop. I will be going over to pick up DGS after awhile so we can have a pj party tonight!

I also did not go out.. I saw a few things I wouldnt mind having for myself, but there was nothing I needed as far as gifts.. I was already almost done with my shopping anyways..

I decided it just wasnt worth going out for the few things I was looking at.. On a good note, I did go on JcPenney website before I went to bed and they did have the velour pants I wanted for the sale price.. so I ordered a few pairs and had them shipped to my house with free shipping.. :cool1:

i have been going out early AM the last few years...this year, i stayed home and I LOVE IT!!!! had a NICE SLEEP!!!! Will be shopping online this year!!!

Nope, all the things we're buying as gifts this year are all price fixed, and everything else in the ads just didn't "grab" me this year.
