I called 12 min ago at opening and was quoted 5in now lets see and wait
Their system is down.
Was that the advantage line?I called the wrong AA line then I was a 3 hours hold. The next day(yesterday) was a 5 hour hold just before midnight with a poor connection so I got disconnected after 5 minutes incomplete in my reservations. Left a call back number because I called right back saying I would get a call after 8 hours (so 8am) But they woke me at 5am and I scrambled out of bed because who knows if I would get a live person later!
Just straight American Airlines number. Since I don’t know what the advantage line is I assume that’s some sort of frequent flyer perk that I don’t have.Was that the advantage line?
This happened to us on the checkin night. I was trying through the app with my iPhone. I switched to my computer using chrome and it went right through. On my phone with safari I got the blue circle of death. Try a different server or try the website, not the app.tried to do the online check-in on monday - couldn't upload our passport picture - it just kept spinning - so we tried the next night - and it still kept spinning - tried the third night - and still couldn't do it - so when i tried again this morning i was a little ticked - and i called - and they told me 408 minutes - almost 7 hours to wait - this is not acceptable - they already have our money - the least they can do is let us check-in -
I don't know if this would help, but make sure you haven't cropped or altered the passport photo or the other photo. When we were checking in for a cruise earlier this year, I had cropped the photos on my phone to make them look better and it wouldn't take them (spinning). When I tried to upload the original photo, it took them fairly quickly. So my guess was that it can tell if the digital image has been altered and didn't like that. That is a total guess on my part, but it does sort of make sense. Agreed on DCL causing Costco travel issuesi have had the best luck calling Costco right at 7:00 am pacific time when they open (9:00 central and 10:00 Eastern). They can only take 50 calls on their system. I think DCL is causing them issues because Costco has to hang on hold with these DCL wait times.
May I ask why you called them? I didn’t know you could call them about anything, and now I’m wondering if I’m missing out on something!Called the Castaway Club line at 3:27 pm and our call was finally answered at... 7:50!
There was a slew of cancellations among the airlines Friday over 2000 mostly SW though. There doesn't seem to be a real reason for it, but airline travel has been a mess lately.Just straight American Airlines number. The main reason is there was severe weather in the south Thursday through yesterday and that caused a LOT of cancellations.

I called them about adding air travel and ground transfers to our cruise. I sometimes use the CC line as an alternative to the general DCL line. Sometimes they answer quicker but most often there's no significant difference, in my experience.May I ask why you called them? I didn’t know you could call them about anything, and now I’m wondering if I’m missing out on something!
also the NW. we live near DC and the wind gust were horrible and dangerous storms all day, even some tornadoes touching down. I was not surprised to see so many cancellations.
