is anyone familiar with Hulu

We have just heard of Hulu and we are interested. Is anyone here familiar with it? Is it as good as it sounds>|? Is it as good as netflix? Can it be used with the Wii system? Any input would be great.

Nothing like Netflix. I just cancelled our paid Hulu subscription because there was never much to watch, or things we did watch were on the free Hulu page anyway. It's worthwhile, for free, to catch up on missed TV shows, but paying for it was not worth it to me.

I don't know if it streams through the Wii - not that I ever heard, but I just used it on the laptop or my phone so I wasn't really looking for that feature.

I would go over and check it out for free for a while and see if there's much there that you are interested in - things that you need the subscription for are marked as Hulu "plus".

I watch it through the Roku box. I don't have cable, Hulu allows to watch current shows. It is similar to Nextflix. I have had it for the past five months and no problems.

Hulu is GREAT for catching up on recent shows that you missed. Netflix generally only has past seasons. Hulu Plus when it first came out seemed to have a bunch of stuff that was not available through regular HUlu. That does not seem to be the case anymore. A lot of people are complaining about not getting much for their subscription. Only a few devices are Hulu ready; i.e. certain blu-ray players, tv's. Hulu plus can be used on smart phones too, but be leery because when you click onto a show's page, it often has a message saying that they do not have permission to make the show available on mobile devices. Check it out though. I am on Hulu everyday while the kids are at school. I think you may even be able to get a free trial of hulu plus.

I've had Hulu plus since it started. It's awesome. Between Hulu+, Netflix and Amazon I'm paying about $350 a year and watching pretty much anything I want instead of $1200 a year for cable. If you go that route definitely check out the Roku box.

Do you find anything on Amazon Prime that you don't find on the other two? I have been offered a half price Prime (currently have free Prime for shipping but it doesn't include video, the half price one would.)

To OP: YOu can't watch Hulu on your TV unless you subscribe to Hulu Plus for $7.99/mo.

We use the free version of HULU and we have enjoyed some of the shows. Their selection seems to be older stuff but I think that's just because we use the freebie. I've heard you have more choices with the paid version but not sure if it's true. I don't believe you can use the Wii but I think the Xbox Kinnect works with HULU.

I have Hulu+, which we watch through our Roku box on tv. I find that we don't use it very much. I can get most recent shows on Demand from Comcast. I also find their interface clumsy and the print is so small, it's hard to read across the room from our tv. I am thinking about canceling.

I can see that this wouldn't be good for those who have cable or satellite and a DVR or on demand.

We no longer have the above and Hulu+ has replaced that for us with a Roku box where we can pull up the show when we want and pause and rewind, etc...

For the record you cannot watch Hulu on a Wii but you can get Netflix.
