It's on in the school bookstore and I'm watching it while I DIS. By the way, it's with a police chief in the D.C. area and a school superintendent up there.

We don't get CNN so let us know if they say anything new. I just realized something. The sniper started in Montgomery County. He has since hit south (Fredericksburg) & east (Bowie). If he is spreading out in all directions, he will be heading north & west of Montgomery County next. If you head North on I-270 (the major north/south route) out of Montgomery County, you end up in Frederick. That's where we live. You would also take that route to catch I-70, a major east/west route.

mom2boys, my DH works in Frederick. He has been really nervous about the shootings (and so have I) because he works on construction right along the interstate.

We must not live too far from each other.

They didn't exactly say anything earth-shattering. About the only thing I found interesting was that they said that the attendance level for schools was on the lower end of the normal range (between 80 and 95 percent.) I thought more parents would keep their kids home.

I thought more parents would keep their kids home.

The thing is that the kids can't be kept home forever. They eventually have to go back to school, whether the sniper is caught or not.

I really feel for all of you out there. I pray that they catch this guy. This morning as I dropped DS off at school, I was looking around for any type of out of place people/cars/trucks. And I can't tell you how happy I was to see a squad car parked in front of our school. We aren't even near the madness you have, I can't imagine what you are going through. Hugs and prayers to all of you.

I know, AFR...it just surprised me considering that it was only yesterday that the little boy was shot.

I considered keeping my son home from school today, but who knows how long it will be until this guy is caught. We can't keep them home indefinately. All the schools in this area are in a lockdown, so I think they are probably safer in school than they are just about anywhere.

I have a feeling that with the schoolkids, he's already been there done that. IMO as long as they continue with the code blue I think that the kids are safer there than anywhere, it would only be if they lowered the defenses that I would be concerned. He seemed to take that as a challenge. I don't think he'll strike in the same way twice, it would be too predictable. As I said in another post, I'm more concerned that he'll try to shake our confidences further by striking at one of the police officers assigned to protect the students. Thank God so far this has been a quiet day.
